This excludes speakers, but they also do a package with a pair of Denon SCM37 Speakers on their website for £266.07

The Denon D-M37DAB is a terrific micro hifi system that features DAB/FM/AM radio reception, a quality CD player, MP3 and WMA playback from CD or USB devices and a 2 x 30 watt amplifier. With its excellent, compact design, superb build quality and terrific audio performance, it's clear that the DM37 is a top-value micro system.

A great machine, it's been this price (or damn close) at Superfi for a while but worth a reminder. ;-)

I have the black model, £175 from Richer in a VIP Club deal last December.

And a USB plug for memory sticks or external HDDs... Nice! Hot!

My minimum specs are MP3-enabled, DAB radio, and USB for external media. Additionally I'd love to have a card reader slot too but this one already ticks all the boxes and from a great brand name. However it's not so cheap anymore if you need to buy separate speakers, so I'll hold on a little longer. Thanks anyway!

It is cheap, your just being a cheapskate and dreaming of a deal that probably will never transpire.
Probably the best docking mini system of its type right now. People often pair these to F1 Custom Tannoys from Richer to complete the system. Having heard the B&W Zeppelin and various Fatman's and being disappointed, this is the route I would choose if I was after a MP3 or iPod docker.

I got this exact system in black with the matching black Denon speakers for £189 delivered from Superfi website at Christmas.

Might have been a misprice, most other places were doing for £300 at the time (with the matching denon speakers).

Got best micro hifi in what hifi last year. Brilliant sounds and functionality (mp3 from usb etc)

The review is still on the what hifi site. Sub £500 (probably £1000) this is easily the best micro system you can get functionality and sound wise. Great system wife loves it for the dinning room. Value for money / quality wise its easily the best hifi I have ever had and I have had a few including some really expensive kit.

why do you need a memory card slot if you have a usb port? use a card reader.
and a micro system that needs seperate speakers usually goes to show quality, and of course denon do just that...oooze quality!
this is a nice little system, not for me, im sticking with my av reciever for my music still with the official ipod dock wired upto it for the living room for music.

but good price, heat added

If you can find this set up reasonably cheap anywhere then go for it. Lovely combination, and the inclusion of the Wolfson DA converter makes it a superb sounding little system.

Just found this, I got my 515 from them, very good customer service. Onkyo 715 plus Q Acoustics and cabling for £299.

Or the updated one.

Indeed it was. Like I said £100 less than it was going for at the time. Even at £300 with speakers I would be very impressed for the money.

Still even at this price a great machine for the money. If you read the reviews the ONKYO doesnt have usb or a number of other features and the sound reproduction is not as good either...

You can expect decent stuff like this to go up in price anyway over the next couple of years anyway as we import EVERYTHING manufactured pretty much and the pound has fallen in value against the yen byu 30 - 40% over the last year or so.

looks good if you JUST want the micro system on its own.............,just a note tho if you buy the denon speakers as part of the package with this item they are priced at £89.95,buy them seperately from same place and they are only £78.25.........if you are willing to order the speakers from elsewhere they are £69.99 plus £5 p&p at both hughesdirect and homecinematv.......the best buy in my opinion if you want the system and same speakers is from hifix.co.uk for £234.84 with the choice of black or silver at no extra charge
#14
So what would posters recommend? The Denon speakers, or some separates such as the F1 custom Tannoys?
#15
I have just ordered & believe this to be great value - thx

Can you connect an iPod to it?

You could either with a little dock or a cable.

Lovely, I'm in the market for an upgrade to my trusty little panasonic unit (bless!).

A bit of advice from you guys though, speaker-wise - I love my music and live in an upstairs flat meaning I am prone to sharing that music with my long suffering neighbours below. I would like to look at what I can do to minimise the noise pollution on them.... Do I get decent speaker stands? Do I wall mount? Keep the speakers away from the wall? etc - you thoughts are appreciated.

Get some speakers without much bass - that's what goes through the walls.
