I absolutely adore lassi. This one is available at Morrisons too but it's a lot more expensive. Just about to add heat for this one, excellent post :)

i saw these the other day (the offer shelf label) but the shelf was empty at my local tesco's. Being a British asian let me tell you an inside secret... you can make this at home (quote from goodness gracious me ringing in my head). All you need is half a tin of mango pulp which tesco also sell in their asian aisle (the natco or ktc brand), 4 or 5 tablespoons of natural yogurt or 3/4 scoops of vanilla ice cream, handfull of ice cubes and semi skimmed milk. You can also add a dash of rose water or syrup commanly known as "Rohafza" Liquidise the whole lot in your blender and serve. Simpalzz!! even better if you use fresh mangoes which you get in boxes from your local asian area in the summer time.

Wouldn't but anything with the word Mumtaz on it.

Some say the company was set up years ago with money from importing heroin from Pakistan and selling it on the streets of Bradford.......

Some say the tax office did a job on them for tax evasion.

Then there is the matter of them building without planning consent.

Some say that Mumtaz is little more than a bunch of villains dressed up as a curry house.

Forgot to mention the guy who was stabbed to death outside their Bradford restaurant and his alleged links to drug supply, he ran into the kitchen they say and the owner threatened to sue to Police when they had to shut him down for a couple of days to investigate.

All urban myths I'm sure..................

Ooo I been Mumtaz and the food is the dogs danglies, will check out this lassi, however Tesco do sell mango pulp in tins which I normally just mix with milk to get the same effect
#21
I luv this Mumtaz lassi too....

They are very well known British Asian origin from Pakistan...like Kashmir bakers in UK etc or like any other Pathak, Tilda, VeeTee, White Pearl and Laila basmati rice importers Asian millionaires etc etc

I saw at Tesco today that Mumtaz also sell Chicken Tikka masala, Balti gosht, lots of masalas (spice sauses ) jars as well as lots of other stuff so it's a well known recognised brand

Well..all in all it's a good bargian price for this stuff...everyone has their opinions but I picked up a bargain and thanks to original OP

Voted hot !

Very nice lassi, the strawberry ones nice too, it is quite easy to make at home though which could save a lot of money.

About mumtaz being started from drugs, the rumours have been going around for years but maybe it's just jealous rivals spreading sh*t which does happen quite a bit in bradford.

very nast tasted lassi. this is not true lassi man . this is some king of suger water shhhhhhhii-.

Holidayed in Pakistan last year and OH MY LORD, the mangos are the most delicious of all fruit in the universe. An ice cold brain freezing mango lassi/milkshake of mango, after a sizzling feast of karai gosht and naan bread is simply....*faints*
#27
hot- had lassi in a restraunt last night and it was lovely! A very refreshing alternative to soft drink
#28
i am british asian n im nt a big fan of lassi hate the stuff prefer milk shake
#29
good find, Mumtaz are the best, i remember when the restraunt was the size of one house then they just bought the entire street!, i think thats bs about the heroin, there good people who run/own that restraunt.
#30
Great find me old pal!

Bargain for that price...but i think it's worth making one yourself like the earlier posts....much healthier
