"Absolution is probably the easiest Muse album to just put on and listen to all the way through - the songs are shorter than on the previous record 'Origin of Symmetry' and the flow is better than 'Black Holes and Revelations'.
The band is always very tight musically and this gives the material a nice, solid feel. Matt Bellamy's singing is top-notch and, while his guitar skills impress, it's the piano interludes (see songs 'Butterflies & Hurricanes' and 'Ruled By Secrecy') that really shine.
There's a vaguely paranoid vibe that runs through all the songs, but their sound is pleasantly varied - contrast the slow, beautiful waltz 'Blackout' with the heavier, riff-orientated 'Stockholm Syndrome'.
This is high-energy stuff and definitely unmissable."
