Teignmouth neo-prog rockers' third album follows 2001's 'Origin Of Symmetry'. For this release the band trim back on the progressive flourishes somewhat without sacrificing musical innovation. Includes the single 'Time Is Running Out' and the track 'Stockholm Syndrome' which sold 5000 "copies" as an innovative download single.

1. Intro
2. Apocalypse Please
3. Time Is Running Out
4. Sing for Absolution
5. Stockholm Syndrome
6. Falling Away with You
7. Interlude
8. Hysteria
9. Blackout
10. Butterflies and Hurricanes
11. Small Print
12. Endlessly
13. Thoughts of a Dying Atheist
14. Ruled by Secrecy

Not quite as good as Origins or Showbiz IMO, but a brilliant album nevertheless, that everyone should have in their collection at this price! Hot.

I remember when Muse used to be good. Now they are just popstar sellouts like Chilli Peppers, Greenday and Kings of Leon

How can you compare MUSE to american cheese

Incredible band
#8
because they have followed the exact same formula. Showbiz and Origin were amazing albums. Then they got too famous for their own good and their income rose and talent dropped

I think thats somewhat unfair.

It goes without saying that over time, a band's music will change.

Yes, Muse have changed their style significantly since Showbiz and the like. And, indeed, the changed style may not be to everyones taste - not yours obviously, and not massively mine either.

However, I think it is grossly unfair to say they are "following a formula" - they are still unique in their sound, and clearly make music that they want to make, as opposed to mindless chart rock hits.

What a load of absolute rubbish! I take it you don't play any sort of instrument because your comment about the talent dropping is absolute nonsense, the entire Black Holes album really shows they've come along as musicians. The drums have come a long way in particular, Dom really shines on that album. I just think you're one of those kind of people who can't stand to see a band they like get out of the "underground" stage and starts crying "sell out! sell out!". Believe me, there's millions like you and it's boring now.

Everything Muse touches turns to gold, they've always worked very, very hard on their albums and the talent never "dropped".

I'm actually a very accomplished guitarist and have been for some years. I admire Matts playing skills but I simply think the music has been dumbed down and been purely made to appeal to the more mainstream masses.
