They offer a minimum of 30p for CDs, 37p for DVDs and 50p for games. Freepost delivery and 10% cashback available. They typically offer 1/3 of the lowest amazon marketplace price for CDs and DVDs and 1/2 for games. Since amazon marketplace can be ridiculously overpriced, you may find one of your obscure DVDs or albums being worth a lot, so it's worth a punt. They sell under the name Zoverstocks on amazon marketplace and a few other sites.

This 25% deal runs until the end of February.

Zoverstocks? So that's who keeps undercutting me on playtrade :)

Thanks for the info, I shall see what they will give me for all the stuff I cannot seem to sell on play/ebay etc.

You may think that 45p is a bit crap, and well, it is. But, if you actually try and sell it on amazon or ebay then you end up selling it for about £3 and then have to take off the fees and the postage costs and the time to package it up and post it and hope that none of your buyers claim it never arrived and then have to refund them and claim it back from the post office. Car boot sales would be better but it is still a lot of effort compared to selling loads in one go.

Agreed. Before the promotion DVDs were bought for ~3.33 times less the lowest amazon price. So that means for your DVDs the lowest price would probably be £1.33. Standard fees would leave you with about half of the buyer's price and remember to take 76p postage out of that.

Plus, if zoverstocks have a listing for your dvd, forget about it. They will undercut absolutely everything down to 1p.

This company has been advertising on TV this week. Thought I'd have a look and the prices are a joke - I'm taking my old items to charity shops instead.

I think the idea is that you use music magpie to off load a lot of dvds and cds in one hit. Items that are generally not worth the effort to sell individually, items that are not rare. I know I am never going to be able to sell some of my old dvds such as all the original Friends ones (about 40dvds worth for the whole series) and the james bond ones as they have all been re-released in better editions and boxsets and it is not much more expensive to buy them new.

If you want to donate your unwanted dvds and cds to a charity shop then good for you, I might just do the same.

I've tried them twice, both times they claimed they hadn't arrived... except the second time I sent it via recorded delivery.

My advice is to avoid at all costs.

Newest one was 53, the last three before that was about 110-130 (with free courier pickup I might add!). The last one was full of crap. Most of it I bought from Cex for less than 50p to make a profit!
