It looks like it's a nylon strung guitar rather than steel so easier on your fingers but harder to play. I wouldn't have thought it'd sound great, i was looking at the clarinet cos i've not played in years but seeing as decent ones go 2nd hand on ebay for £200 i think this should be avoided :S

You get what you pay for with musical instruments. There's no point buying something cheap and getting put off because of how hard it is to play, and how bad it sounds. I'd save up and buy something decent second hand if I were you.

Not going to vote on this because I suppose they are cheap and that's what this site is about, but realistically this will not be a worthwhile purchase.

Thanks, I'll definitely be buying one of the guitars (providing my local has them in stock).

Can anyone recommend a good beginners book for the acoustic guitar?

True but for beginners who stick at it for a few weeks, then get a better one, it may be a good idea. eg. the violins look a great deal and ALLl beginners on a violin sound awful (20 yrs experience) :whistling: :w00t: :whistling:

Could save parents a packet if little johnny goes off it within a few weeks. Right time of year, just back to school. These also sell well on e bay too.

any info about the violin? I'd be interested if it seemed decent quality & was adult size

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into them :) .
