Great price for beginners - heat

Golf is boring, but I'm sure this is a hot deal for those who want to play the boring game.
#5
Good deal for starters. Golf is a fantastic sport. H&R on way.
#6
Hot,
Heard on the radio,
Golf was invented in Scotland as a sport NOT for woman (but changed these days)

Great price for a set of starter clubs. How they produce/transport/store/advertise/ship these for this money is beyond me.

Actually, I believe my comment was useful. I eloquently verbalised the possible fun - or rather, lack of - that can be derived from such a sport, as well as succiently highlighting that the above quoted price would indicate a rather good deal for the aforementioned sporting equipment for those who adore golf with a passion. :)

I may purchase this set - not to enter the fold of the sport of golf, which I maintain is a rather unstimulating sport - but to keep under my bed, in case hooligan thugs decide to break in to my mansion at night. I shall therefore have a keen weapon at my disposal to whack their heads off with. :)

Quite a high population of people whom enjoy golf will disagree with you.

With a name like yours, I assume that you have more weapons than a golf club.....

Plus quite a high population of people whom enjoy golf will disagree with you.

I'm sorry but thats just a little bit racist, and i suspect you have just overstepped the line there:!:

Back on topic- been looking to get into golf for a while. Anyone got any idea if these are remotely decent?

(for a total beginner)

Woods 1 -3 5 (Graphite shafts)& 3-Hybrid Club (Light weight Steel shaft)
The 420cc deep face power driver is longer straighter and more consistent, weight is distributed and designed to help keep the club face square at the impact zone thus generating those valuable extra yards.
The 3-wood, 5-wood and hybrid wood share the same weight dispersion system therefore generating a more forgiving contact and impact on your fairway approach shots.

The slightly thicker top line allows for a better airflow and this specific design gets the ball airborne from virtually any lie
The high tensile carbon graphite shafts maximises ball speed by flexing on impact generating greater explosive power to the shot and thus achieving greater distance.

Iron 4 S-W (steel shaft)
TI Matrix oversize head design with internal cavity weight redistributed allows for lower spin rates and ultimately far greater distance
A larger thinner weight system closer to the face is designed to bring consistency to the swing and a much more solid feel at impact.

Putter with Milled Face Alignment System
The ball alignment system and soft face design constantly allow the ball to roll straighter with strategically designed weight distribution making the feel incredible
Eye ball shaft alignment is to a professional standard
The soft feel insert reduces side spin and assists in straighter putting

Four Oversize wood headcovers
High quality full length shaft protection with tour pro design allows for easy on and off movements

Tour Model 8.5 inch Double Strap Stand Bag
This strong but incredibly light bag has a multitude of features including a good club holder system with convenient ball and valuable pockets including a super size pocket for your golf clothing.

Have you got any reason for thinking the heads will come off? I've known people spend £200 on one club and have the head come off, so it's not really a fair comment. I think these clubs will be perfect for a beginner, someone looking to get into golf. You can't really go wrong for that sort of money - if you only use them a few times and decide you don't like golf, you haven't dipped out, and if you do get on and want to progress, you can buy a better set of clubs further down the line without having splashed out too much cash here.

Moan this moan that mansion this and that ..... Keeping golf clubs as a weapon and using them, will firstly will be used against you in a court of law. Since you have the intent of committing an act in which the law deems to fit the category of murder (to the furthest extreme) on the other hand if you did not state “I shall therefore have a keen weapon at my disposal to whack their heads off with” you might have a some sort of leg to stand on…. But meh who am I to advise you……. Anyone who uses words like eloquently in a sentence should have the common sense to know the difference between right and wrong and naivety is not a plausible excuse…….

I got these last time they were this price. Search the forum - this debate goes on every time these clubs show up cheap.
People who play regular golf will tell you they're naff and admittedly they're not great. But they are under forty quid! In my opinion, these are much the same as a set of beginners clubs you'd play £100 or so for from JJB's or similar.
Still doesn't make then great, but does make them ideal whilst you find out how much you like the game.

Ordered a set. Worth a punt while i see if i like the game. Plus i'd probably just ruin a decent set of clubs being a beginner anyway...

my set arrived yesterday and very surprised at how good they are seeing as some people seem to say they are complete tat without having ever seen them!

the bag alone is worth a good £20

off for a round today :)
