BUT, it doesn't fully explain that to use it after the initial 30 days free trial costs money!

From a little research its around the £50 mark, so voted cold....

Seems a canny price. I'd recommend having an unlimited data tariff though if you're going to use one of these as it downloads maps en route.

Review here: http://www.gadgetspeak.com/gadget/article.rhtm/756/481059/ActivePilot_brings_Sat-Nav_to_your_mobil.html

Hope that helps.

but cant you install other software and use the gps reciever with something like tomtom mobile?

I don't know, can you? It doesn't state either way in the OP?

This is a hot deal. For £8.46 you can trun any bluetooth device into a gps, I have a simlar device i got from Amazon which I use with an old HP PDA. For the maps I use Quo.
The subscription appears to be an option for a data base, not essential.

Hot price for Bluetooth GPS
#7
You can use this with a jailbroken i-phone 3G.

Install ROGY Bluetooth, it costs 8 Euros for the licence then use this to connect your GPS software on your phone. N-Drive I think is still less than tenner, or I'm sure you can source other free software if you know where to look.

Don't bother with there own software, it isn't free and not very good!

Under £10 for a GPS receiver is very good

Forget the software .......................use this GPS device to link by BT to your phone or PDA . These are great little devices . I bought one recently from a company called Qfonic for about the same price .I use it with my Axim x50v running MM & TT . Locks on very quickly and the battery seems to hold it's charge for ages .................unlike some I have .
Comes with a little velvet pouch and charger . Worth it .

But N-Drive works absolutely fine on my wife's non jail broken 3G iPhone and that's without an external GPS receiver. Why would anyone go to all the trouble you're suggesting when they could just buy N-Drive for the iPhone?

The 3G doesn't have GPS, the 3GS has a built in GPS.

Here's the stats for the 3G: http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_3g-2424.php

The iPhone 3G DOES have GPS.

This is essentially the same deal as this

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/624154/jentro-gps4now-bluetooth-gps-receiv

and it's a great Blutooth GPS receiver. I even bought two of them and they last about ten hours on one charge, so they are really handy if you have an older phone/PDA without GPS built in.

so can you buy this and solely use the device its self with nokia maps as I don't need the software stuff. Or should i buy this instead...??
