"I don't think anyone can have written an autobiography without at some point thinking 'Why would anyone want to know this shit?' I've always read them thinking 'I don't want to know where Steve Tyler grew up, just tell me how many groupies he f**ked!"

If you think Frankie Boyle is near the knuckle on Mock The Week, then you haven't seen anything yet! Enter Frankie's autobiography, My Shit Life So Far.

So begins Frankie's outrageous, laugh-out loud, cynical rant on life as he knows it. From growing up in Pollokshaws, Glasgow (a town that 'was a lot like Bladerunner without the special effects'), to his rampant teenage sex drive and first job working in a mental hospital where, "most evenings were spent persuading an old man in his pants not to eat a family sized block of cheese"), nothing is out of bounds.

Outspoken, cynical and always outrageous, Frankie Boyle, the dark heart of Mock The Week, says the unsayable as only he can. From the TV programmes he would like to see made like, "Celebrities On Acid On Ice: just like Celebrity Dancing On Ice, but with an opening sequence where Graham Norton hoses the celebrities down with liquid LSD", to his native Scotland and the Mayor of London, "voting for Boris Johnson wasn't that different to voting for a Labrador wearing a Wonder Woman costume", nothing and no-one is safe from Frankie's fearless, sharp-tongued assault. Sharply observed and full of taboo-busting, we-really-shouldn't-be-laughing-at-this humour, My Shit Life So Far shows why Frankie Boyle really is the blackest man in show business.

I did that last year with a book from Sainsburys, they just thought there was a scanning issue. As long as you have a receipt I'd say it would be fine.

I take it Play won't be able to deliver in time for Christmas now that the sale is on. Any one know if this is the case? Thanks

Yes - I've done that before just say its a duplicate copy you received or bought for someone. You have the receipt so they can't say anything.
Plus Amazon also have if for £4.99 which can be delivered free by tomorrow if your on Prime (free trial)

Be careful with the "free trial". I ordered a cd or something and it said I could have a free trial for 30 days, so I ticked the box and never thought about it again. Then I noticed £49 out of my account a few weeks later for something I didn't recognise. Called the bank they said call this number which took me through to somone in bloomin India or somewhere like that and they had charged me the full package. I think you need to cancel it within the 30days, I did however get a refund but a lot of people wouldn't even notice that going missing from their account if they don't check their statements/account.

Did you really think they would just give you it for 30 days and not automatically continue it?

Well i ordered 3 posters from play last week still no sign of them, ordered 2 items from amazon yesterday delivered this morning by citylink so i would say amazon even more so if you're a prime member, but i think you can sign up for prime for a trial period then cancel it before you start paying for it and prime gets you next day delivery

You cant at the moment - i guess to stop people buying all their christmas presents with free next day delivery then cancelling.

Personally, i bought the subscription to prime. I buy a lot from Amazon, and its definitely been worth it over the year.

Anything over a certain value on amazon gets delivered via citilink. I dont think that will happen with a book of this price though.

I dont think the free trial of amazon prime is currently running.

No you cant as its not on at the moment - for that very reason during the christmas rush.
If you've any other items to order then the next day delivery could work out cost effective if you are getting other stuff too.

Back to the book! Sh*t book from a sh*t comic.

Crude is OK if it's funny too but just being crude isn't funny. Lowest common denominator stuff - thank goodness he isn't on MTW now. Sad reflection on what our society now calls 'entertainment'.

Save your money.

Goddammit!! I ordered this only 4 days ago from Amazon, when it was £9.48!!! It's not here yet, think it's worth an email to see if they will give me it for the lower price?

Yup each to their own, I like Frankie but although chuckled in a few places book not as funny as seeing the guy live.

Especially when you see the stuff they wouldn't even let him put on the DVD

Hot price tho

Could well have a different ISBN to Smiths', hence the other poster's issue with it not scanning. Obviously the sales person wasn't very clued up as when I worked at Waterstone's a quick check on Phoenix would tell me if it was a copy we had ever sold or not, or whether someone was trying it on like you! Just a heads up to avoid any potential embarassment.

Just go on to amazon and put something in your basket. When you go to checkout it asks you which delivery option you want (free supersaver etc but there's also Prime 30 day free trial). If you choose that you get free delivery for 30 days with no obligation to continue. Just remember to cancel before the 30 days are up (have a read of the conditions). I just started it last week and I've had loads of stuff delivered. Its guaranteed for next day as well and brilliant. Had so much and still got more to come today and tomorrow without leaving the house!

Sorry - think they've stopped it for now with the rush on.

Not sure if its just normal amazon free delivery - it tells you when you check out (before you confirm) when its likely to arrive. Play are a bit slow I think anyway - probably more so jus now with the rush on. I ordered something from play on Friday and its not here yet. Ordered stuff from Amazon yesterday and its here already but that was through the Prime 30 day trial.

Yes! It was a button you clicked just as you were paying. It said would you like a 30day free trial. It didn't state that you had to cancel it or I would have done before the end of the 30days. I was furious, it certainly aint clear that you need to cancel it or they'll charge you, if I had known that I wouldn't have bothered.
