Just be aware that these drives are very slow for "USB3". I had one and got rid of it as it was unbearable. It would rarely break 15MB/sec write.

Any better drives you'd recommend around this price range?

Pot luck I guess. I got mine a couple of months ago when it was £17. Mine writes at 22MB/s.

Nothing I'm aware of, but I'm not really up to date on the latest USB drives like this. It's a good price per gig, but it's just really slow.

That's still very slow for USB3. While it's a tenner more (Amazon), something like the Samsung MUF-BB can reach 100MB/s write.

If your usage sees you writing to the drive a lot, this time will easily add up. It just depends on your usage.

If you want a lot of storage for a cheap price, then this is fine. I'm not arguing about the value of it, I'm just letting people know that this is really slow.

The real gangsters are the middlemen of sites such as TCB and Quidco that act as an additional layer to keep prices artificially high.

Much prefer to get the discount value direct from a seller rather than through others that are essentially skimming from the pie.

I agree, pot luck - for the price there isn't much that is fast or credibly USB3. The thing is I have an older one and that does 60MB/s. So they used to be a lot faster!

They used to be more expensive too(£28), but the price now probably reflects the cheaper parts they use to make them. When they started using the cheaper and slower components they were still charging the same kind of money as they had when these devices were truly great.

Incidentally I recently bought a 256GB one..... I get 38MB/s solidly. So it twice as fast, and size the capacity, but is twice the price (I paid £30 using an eBay voucher).

This drive is reliable though, and you can buy a lot slower!

Had to Google that pic, I take it it has nothing to do with the fact that the guy you responded to has been banned?

ordering from mymemory is like Potluck... ordered 5 32gb flashdrives from them on the 15th Nov... its now Dec 03 and they still haven't arrived. So they've been added to my list of BAD sellers.
