Number of Discs: 6

In the year 1532, a Spanish orphan named Esteban joins a party of Spaniards in their search for one of The Seven Cities of Gold in the New World, hoping to find his father. He is joined on his quest by Zia, an Incan girl, and Tao, the last descendant of the sunken empire of Mu ("Hiva" in the English dub).

The series is a mix of ancient South American history, archaeology, and science fiction. Esteban, Zia, and Tao encounter the Mayans, Inca, and Olmecs during their journey. The characters discover many lost technological wonders of the Mu Empire, including a solar powered ship (the Solaris) and The Golden Condor, a huge solar-powered would-be ornithopter (mechanical bird), capable of traveling considerable distances under the sun's power alone. They are constantly pursued by antagonists Gomez and Gaspard, who are also in search of the Cities of Gold.

It is the 16th century. From all over Europe great ships sale west to conquer the New World, the Americas. These men eager to seek their fortune, to find new adventures in new lands. They long to cross uncharted seas and discover unknown countries. To find secret gold on a mountain trail high in the Andes. This has been available from the same site before for £32.99, and no doubt shortly after release will be a fair bit cheaper than that. This is RRP, so cold I'm afraid.

I hated this series as a kid, badly. :\

Thought it was utter gash. No doubt plenty of others liked it though!

I loved this as a kid and would like to see it again, but £39.99 for something I'll probably only watch once.... think I'll wait for the sale.

Got to wonder why you bothered posting or even clicking on the thread then really.

Expect this title to be delayed. They're still working on it and review copies aren't expected until next month now.

Play's listing says 6 discs and lists all the episode titles.

Some sites say there's only ONE disc in this set.

i bought this from hmv about a week ago and got a nice email from fabolus films who advise that by buying it from hmv i was entered into a competition, asked if i would prefer a original film cell or a signed photograph, apparently there was quite a few people that wanted the film cells so names went into a hat, opened the post this morning and i was lucky enough to get a original film cell..
