This and Ulysses 31 were my hands down faves as a kid, Willy Fogg too!
#7
OMG I loved this show! Children's BBC with Andy Peters in the broom cupboard was it not? >.<
#8

NO :( Series was cancelled.[/COLOR]

IMHO this was THE best children's TV series of my era. Others came close (Ulysses 31, Dogtanian etc) but nothing quite touched this. It had a proper story arc (not just standalone episodes), strong, believable characters, an excellent plot and great music.

Hot price.

Feel sorry for kids these days and all this rubbish abstract computer generated cartoons - no soul or personality.
#13
there was plenty of rubbish about in the 80s too.

cartoons aren't that different now as they were then, they've just changed in style.

the primary function of 90% of cartoons is still the same as it was back then, to sell toys to kids :)

but yes, cities of Gold was awesome, shame it never got a proper conclusion, but then that happened with so many 'classic' cartoon series of the time.

I loved this show and bought the DVD for £30 a year ago and was well chuffed then. All i need now is Ulysses 31 for a decent price and i'm in dreamland.

I F'in Loved This Series!
#17
Loved the series, I was sad when it finished & only lasted 1 series... it was ment to last a good few more as there was ment to be 7 citys of gold (series ended when they found one). The french version & australian featured real life clips of ancient civilisations legends before each ep (usually about 5 mins worth).

Theres a new company bought the rights to mcog & are releasing a new series & a film, it was due for release last year but on the company website it now says this year. Can't wait.

Bought the film (cartoon film) a few years back thinking I would love it like when I was a kid... had to stop watching after 20 mins because it was so cheesy. Can't remeber if the episodes were any better now...

great deal - awesome cartoon
#24
Reminds me I still have to watch this from last time it was posted. Classic show!

Watched them all last year and they're still really good. In fact I watched them right up to the last episode and started again.
