With Maemo users can customise the home screen with widgets, shortcuts and applications whilst new apps can be downloaded from Maemo Select, the dedicated Maemo App store.
Speed and Power!
The N900 injects speed and power into mobile computing thanks to a 600 MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor and up to 1GB of application memory. The result is the ability to multi task, run multiple applications, without affecting the performance of the phone. Navigating menus and applications is fast and fluid ensuring the N900 will never let you down.
QWERTY Keyboard
The Nokia N900 Maemo features a slide out QWERTY keyboard that enhances the user experience and aids web browsing and messaging. Firing off emails, texts and instant messaging is fast and effective and the N900 is able to organise messages from multiple channels so they appear as one conversation.
Web Browser
The Nokia N900 features a browser powered by Mozilla technology ensuring websites look the way they would on any computer. The N900 also benefits from full Adobe Flash 9.4 support meaning online videos and interactive applications run flawlessly on the phone.
HSDPA
HSDPA on the N900 means that you can enjoy speeds of up to 10 Mbps, similar to your home broadband. This means that web browsing and downloads are handled at lightening quick speeds. HSDPA is commonly known as Mobile Broadband.
Wi-Fi
With Wi-Fi you can use your phone to connect to a local wireless network (W-LAN) to connect to the internet. This offers a cheap (sometimes free) method of connecting to the net to download emails, files, or check on your favourite website.
5.0 Megapixel Camera
With a built in 5.0 megapixel camera, auto focus, a powerful Dual LED Flash and a Carl Zeiss lens, the Nokia N900 takes quality pictures that you will want to share with your friends. Store them in your phone, email them to friends or upload them to your blog. Other premium features include the ability to Geo-tag photos with information relating to where the photo was taken and WVGA video capture at 25 frames per second.
On board Memory
The Vodafone N900 features a huge 32GB of memory built-in making it the ultimate phone for storing music and movies as well as all your photos and videos taken with the on board camera.
Expandable Memory
As if that wasn't enough, the phone also supports expandable memory up to 16GB taking the total to a potential 48GB! The N900 uses MicroSD cards (Transflash) just like previous Nokia mobile phones.
GPS
With GPS you can use the phone to locate your position, plan your journey, check for problems, and as a general Sat Nav device, when used in conjunction with compatible mapping software.
A-GPS
A-GPS is a network service that can locate your position to within 100 metres by using a clever technique called triangulation. By sending a signal to three cell masts, A-GPS will work out your location by the location of the cells and your distance from them. When combined with a GPS enabled phone, the addition of A-GPS enables a faster GPS satellite lock.
Email Client
The N900 Mini on Vodafone has an email client, which will allow you to receive email from your own personal email account, and send pictures, videos or text emails to any email account anywhere in the world. Email access on the phone is simple to set up and a cost effective way of keeping in touch. The N900 can support up to 10 email accounts so you're never out of touch with the people that matter!

Music Player
With a built in music player, you can carry your tunes with you, in your pocket, and listen to them when you want. Most digital formats are recognised on the phone, including MP3 and AAC.
Bluetooth 2.0
Bluetooth 2.0 is the next generation of Bluetooth connectivity. With Bluetooth 2.0 one of the biggest advantages is the possibility of listening to music with a compatible stereo wireless headset. Less wires, less mess, more noise.
Stereo FM Radio
With a Stereo FM Radio built in to the Vodafone N900, you will always have access to the latest tunes on your phone. Tune in to your favourite station, whenever you want, straight from your phone.

its unlocked

and its great phone, cant get enough from it, imho much better than the iphone

the only downside is the apps are not as much as iphones, but the ones available are enough for me... and can be downloaded from the phone, no need to PC
lets hope nokia will make the ovi maps available on the n900 (they have ver1 on it which is rubbish)

I wouldn't touch mobiles.co.uk with a barge pole. The last phone I purchased from them was a disaster. Never did get my £10 phone credit which you have to purchase when buying one of there PAYG phones, endless emails, days waits for replies, delays and excuses from this company all along the way. Took over a week for the phone to arrive as well. Not an enjoyable buying experience at all...AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!
#13
This is a cracking deal - great alternative to buying it outright.

I got my iPhone 32gb from these. Very fast delivery and cashbask paid on time. Highly recommended!

Can anyone tell me why phones don't have an AM tuner? I only use the radio for the footy!

As far as I know AM radios are larger and so a phone casng wouldn't be able to accommodate it, and some further research has told me that also the phone's circuitry would cause interference.

Your best bet would probably be to try and find a live stream for the station you want and listen to it over the internet on your phone instead

AM transmissions are at quite a low frequency compared to FM, and by their very nature suffer from interference quite badly, so it'd be very difficult to stop all the digital hash from the computer side leaking into the AM radio and ruining the sound - it's pretty hard to do it for FM even!

Who has expired this deal .It should be active and is still available

superb phone, I've been waiting for an upgrade from my n95 8gb, ive used iphones, htc magic, hero, 5800, pulse, none of them compare to my n95.

this is the only serious contender for me, full flash, torrents, vpn, vnc, ssh, network drives, canola media player, gps, 5mp camera, decent speakers, nice OS.

its not finished yet, step 4 of 5 for nokia.

After the disgraceful fiasco of the N97 (I am now on my 4th handset) I will never again buy a Nokia product or have a Vodafone contract.

And the N900 doesnt run on Android it runs on Maemo which is a Linux based O/S.
#21
Yes it does run Maemo but Android is being ported as we speak..

You can see a video of a half-baked port on YouTube.
#22
Maemo is absolutly brilliant and there are loads of apps available for it out there, not as many as IPhone obviousley.

Used Maemo on my N800 and N810, really fast only thing annoying was newer Adobe Flash content wouldn't always work.

For this device Adobe have had about 80 programmers working to rewrite everything so that its completly compatible.
#23
After the start of contract, call vodafone and they would give unlock code for free (I've done that a year ago for my Nokia N95 8gb)
#24
Please someone unexpire this deal Its still available.

I know mate - everything after the N95 8GB was disgraceful! I was really going to get the N97 and checking every day for news - I stopped checking the day I heard the CPU/GPU specs of the phone, it's disgraceful.

The N900 is not the same mate, you should really give it a chance.

I wouldn't touch any of the recent Nokias - except for N900, it really IS different to Nokias recent crap.

The mrs has an N97 and it is pretty rubbish, she's on her third handset,

I love my hero, but this or the HD2 seem the most likely upgrade options for me.
