I bought two of these Refurbished Units for my granddaughters, and both I and they are thrilled with them !! They look absolutely brand new, sparkling and are very solid.
PC Mag UK had this to say about them :

" The Nabi 2 is a remarkably full-featured tablet in a kid-friendly body. It's ruggedly built to withstand the rigors of playtime, and comes with a bevy of genuinely compelling games, educational apps, and useful tools for parents. On top of that, it's built with the same components of higher-end tablets, and even beats some with the inclusion of both a microSD card slot and mini HDMI out. Add in future access to the Google Play market, something missing on Amazon tablets, and you have a top-notch tablet that will not only occupy your kids now, but has the potential to grow with them in the future.!

Is it worth paying the extra £10 for the Hudl?

Android 4.0, does this matter? Will all the apps in the play store work?

you can update it over the air to latest version (4.2).

i find that sound quality of nabi is horrible. very low. and front camera for video chatting is useless indoors.

slightly cheaper via argos outlet on fleebay Link here - too late for me (as ordered at £49.99) but someone else may benefit from it

Just be aware that the storage wont go far, I have this and after 3 300MB game installs it was full up and even though it accepts an additional SD card it doesnt let you move/install apps to the external SD. I removed a lot of the fluff that came with it to get it to a a usable space again but have to keep removing games to install new ones.

if it's for a child then I would say no and buy tge Nabi.
once it automatically updates its really good and all apps I've tried work.
really robust aswell which is important.
sound is perfectly acceptable my daughter mostly uses headphones and at 4.5 she doesn't do much video chatting :-)

after the OS there is 4.5gb left internally that's no different to any android device phone or tablet. I bought a 32gb microsd card for all the films and music. the only game that is really large is the CBeebies.

Root the device & then use Link2SD app.....problem solved ....

Yes, IMHO.

Unexplained issues with broken LCDs on these.

I bought the Tesco Hudl instead but give OP heat because I wouldn't have considered androids until this thread started.

The Nabi does have good reviews for the price but Tesco has reduce their current Hudl because Hudl2 is being released this September so I'm just trying it out.

Thanks OP :)

Does the hudl not have quite a few common issues too?

Great little tablet, but does anyone know if the UK has had the update that allows you to put Google Play (store) on it. At the moment I'm stuck with Amazon App store, which doesn't have everything.

For an adult yes, for child no.

I bought one of these from the Argos outlet recently for £44.99 and put away for my 4 year old for Christmas as she loves my Hudl... The same said Hudl which she dropped straight onto the wooden floor yesterday.... Save your blood pressure and go for the kid proofed version if you want it to last longer than 5 minutes.

Had 2 of these on this deal, Terrible, Awful Tablet, in the end I decided to buy another Nexus 7 and purchase a bumper case exactly like that on the nabi, Then installed a Home screen for kids much better than what is in Nabi for 3 quid, Our first nexus 7 is still going 3 years on and you can buy the same mark 1 for 80 quid, Sorry but being a techy and into my Android tablets I just think this was a waste of time.

yeah, there is about 3-4 updates you need you do, one is the full google play store.

we've got 3 in our house and I love them. good quality, robust, Great screen and sound, good battery life. nabi mode for kids or full access in the mommy /daddy mode

awesomr kids tablet with excellent parental controls. had ours 2 years, had lived in the toy box/floor/car, been dropped, drinks spilt on it and it continues to go strong.

There are a lot of refurbs, Argos and Tesco outlets, I'm just hoping it was a simply fixed defect, and nothing ongoing

Had ours a year now absolutely no issues even better now have google play update in January daughter loves it very robust better than any other kids tablet on the market shame the british shops pulled it off the shelves to make space for the less impressive leapfrog and vtech versions ahead of last christmas!

Quick update: Received the tablet quickly, and after using it for 10 mins it's a really smooth and fast tablet, even some of the more graphics intensive games looked great with no frame rate drop. Parental controls are excellent and looks really simple for my 4 yo to use. I plugging the charger and....the charging icon flickered intermittently. Bummer. Unfortunately it doesn't charge with the mini usb but a flimsier connector. Just check this guy's when you buy. Waiting in a replacement, otherwise superb, smooth little tablet.

I ordered one of these.. and have been blown away by the quality! I paid £45 for mine (from Argos) and genuinely feel it is better than an iPad for children. The interface is built from the ground up for kids... amazing. For this price, it is a no-brainer buying this for kids.

That's the reason that I posted the offer, I was so impressed with the two I bought for my granddaughters, I felt I had to recommend them. As you mentioned, it's not just the price that's so impressive. I'm glad you're so happy with it :):)
