NAD is quite a famous mid/high end brand :)

Just wonder for the same price we can get quite a decent Blu-ray player with Online option maybe?

This will go great next to my betamax

High quality, low volume audio specialist. Proper hifi kit, so won't be seen in places like currys/argos normally.

for the price you can get better denon micro systems on ebay. digital in, dab, speakers, remote, good looks.
i know it would be second hand thus off topic, but still this NAD unit seems outdated.

Off topic, but does DAB output in DTS 5.1?

You wont find them in Richer Sounds or Curry's. But only in Cinema or Hi-Fi specialist such as SevenOakes, SuperFi & other places that sell expensive Gears

Utter tripe.

I bought me NAD separates system from Richer Sounds.

I don't Know About NAD But My System's Naf
#28
Great brand. But this is a really old system that's well out of date. Not a bad price if you're looking for a cheap micro system though and don't want to use it with your TV.
#29
I agree about the Denon, we have 2 in our house, sounds great, has bonus of DAB and USB / iPhone dock. Definitely the best buy of this type of system.

NO TO ONKYO

GO NAD !!!!

My bad. Havn't been Richer sounds for years since they got new idiot manager. I used to go Tottenham Court Road to get my cinema goodies most of the time

Talk about inflation, I remember when nad was a budget separates manufacturer.

They've never been budget. Always good quality, mid tier.

I've always considered NAD alongside the likes of cambridge audio and other entry level 'proper' hifi's. Better than the Sonys and JVCs but not quite an Arcam, or even Denon.

Personally I'd take the Denon over this based on every review (independent or not quite so independent), but its all down to listening preference. As with anything AV related, I'd always recommend you audition - even at this price - before buying. side by side with say, the denon, and with the same speakers and physical set up.

And whilst most of the commenter may already know this, its always worth stating the obvious - 'no, it does not include the speakers!'
#34
The thing which puts me off this is it's video bias. Despite the description saying you can plug in an iPod, I think this would be a hack. It wouldn't get power, and you'd probably have to choose some VCR or TV in, to get it to play.
Leaving audio quality aside (because I haven't heard them), I would rather buy that Denon listed above. Although clearly it's not a DVD player like the NAD (should that bother you).

Out of curiosity I checked ebay as I'm after a micro/DAB system, Denon or otherwise - the 2nd hand Denon systems were going for silly money. Not sure what you've seen or where.

Strange then that I have bought 2 NAD CD Players, one of which was sold to me in Richer Sounds (C521i) and the other was sold to me in Currys (C545BEE)
