I always find it funny that people think you are a snob if you appreciate something that tastes better and is a better quality. Basic range supermarket stuff tends to be more acidic and have chunks of tomato ends in it. I am all for using that sort of tomato in say a curry where they are better suited but if making a bolognese or another tomatoe based pasta dish these are better

Don't be silly..if there wasn't such 'food snobbery' then there would be no market for Napolina etc tomatoes and everyone would buy the basic tomatoes you buy, pushing the price up through an increase in demand.
