Found at B&M in Burslem (may be store specific) Napolina organic peeled plum tomatoes 400g tin for 10p. Dated end Dec 2010 but in my opinion they'll last for months.

They may taste bitter or metallic, because the acid in tomatoes reacts with the metal of the can. You might find the inside of the can is black or pitted in advance of the best before date. This happens with most canned products. They may not be worth a guts ache.

Massive deal , have been buying organic toms(and chickpeas strangely enough) from B+M for around the 30pence mark --but this is an amazing price .
btw , thats BS regarding the acid --Napolina is a global player in food production .

Used the first tin of tomatoes today and they were fine. The inside of the can is painted white so there was no pitting and no metallic taste.
