NATPC Primatab 4GB 7" Capacitive Android Tablet PC - Android 4.0 ICS £49.99 at Amazon/Electroniceze

jamesmadamsjamesmadams

This tablet was £49.99 + delivery for a very limited time a few weeks back, now it's back with free delivery on Amazon. A colleague got one at work in the previous deal and for the money I was really impressed. Get one while you can.

For the specs, right now I'd say that it was a great deal and a great introduction to tablets without breaking the bank.

I got a touch pad in the fire sale a good few months back... used it for the first couple of weeks then lost interest. I then put android on it, again used it for a couple of weeks... the missus said it would be a waste of money (I'm not gonna tell her she was right). I'm sure I'll stat using it again... soon... maybe.

As for this... I think it's hot for the price, if all you want is a tablet to use every now and then or to keep the kids happy then I don't see the point in spending 200-300+, I'm sure this will do the job. I've you're wanting something to replace a laptop then I'd keep looking.

Looking at the prev thread for the same tab it seems many people had problems downloading certain software, others said app crashed, dull screen, bad sound but I guess you get what you pay for but for £50 it aint bad..but I would rather pay a bit more and get something a bit more reliable.

I don't think any tablet can replace a laptop 100%. I'm looking forward ot the new windows 8 tablets, now I think they stand a better chance

I dunno, I know for my personal use (Photoshop, Flash, Premier, PokerStars) a tablet could never replace my laptop. Many people really just laptops for internet and word processing so a half decent tablet (with a separate keyboard) would be idea for lots of people. My misses for example... pretty sure all she does is go on facebook and shop online (too much). Every now and then she might write a letter using word but thats it. Only reason she even has a laptop is because it's pink... if a bright pink tablet was passed her way I'm sure she'd be all over it.

Mali 400 GPU ?... Same as the Samsung Galaxy S2 could = good gaming for such little outlay...

The one I had a go on played an 8gb mkv file with no problems. That means I won't have to re-encode all the kids' films for them to watch in the car. For £50! Plus it does all the other stuff too, like browsing, music etc, and like mdx says, the gaming is pretty good too.

If you get it, in Dev options turn on Force GPU for 2D apps... in some cases it has been known for it to make certain apps super smooth and with it having the Mali 400 the GPU in this device is very strong.
