just price dropped by £5
#2
Think this is gonna get some heat.
#3
You will need to add the cost of shipping to that price as it's only free delivery for items over £49.99
#4
+ Shipping charge, :x unless you take it over the 50£ threshold for free s

voted hot...i posted this last week at 49.99..this price is amazing....it will soon be cheaper to buy this than it will a map..lol
#8
So it's gone down a fiver but now you have to pay almost that for P&P?

Hot, but not much hotter than before...
#9
Voted hot but it would be sizzling if it was version 1 as you could fully hack that into English Windows CE and put almost any software on it. :whistling:

Great deal. was thinking of getting one for a while but ideal at this price.

Was going to order a cheapie item for £5 to take it over £50, then discovered they have changed delivery costs and free delivery over £50 no longer exists. There is NO FREE DELIVERY on anything. See here: http://www.ebuyer.com/special/1293

Shipping costs seem to be rather complex and is going to cause them problems in the long run.

So I rang them. Guy still seemed to think it was free over £50 but then realised it had changed! But managed to negotiate the delivery cost down to £4, so still a good deal for me

Great little machine. The battery life is far better than the TomTom model we have.

I take it that version 2 is not hackable down to the OS then? Shame.

typical Ebuyer lies and rip-off charges
"Royal Mail is not available for delivery to EIRE and Northern Ireland due to insurance purposes"
Fair enough, I can understand the Eire bit....but Northern Ireland???....Lat time I checked it was still the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland...and the Royal Mail is still the Royal Mail.

Just ordered. Added a 4GB SD card - total GBP51.40 delivered. Thanks OP.

Bought one of these 2 weeks ago @ £49.98, I added a 2Gb SD card to bump over £50 for free del, ordered Monday, delivered Wed, have had TT7, MioMap 3.3 and iGO8 all running, have settled on iGO8 which (after a bit of tweaking with sys.txt to get rid of stuttery Text To Speech and disappearing roads) is running great, and an absolute bargain at this new price. iGO8 has some superb features compared with my old Garmin i3, and the 3D maps (i.e. you see the road going up and down hills etc) is very nice. Well recommended if you are prepared to do a bit of digging to get it all set up...
#23
At least the pre-installed mapping on this is pretty much up-to-date. I bought a cheapish Navman a couple of years ago but discovered the map was probably at least 3 years old as it sometimes showed me as driving through a field when I was using newish roads in my hometown. It also didn't know about my in-laws address on a new estate they had been living at for nearly 4 years which some might say is a good thing but my O/H wouldn't let me use that as an excuse not to visit :whistling:
#24
very nice price! might have to pick one up!
#25
Hacked or not,
can it be used to geotag pictures??
(a lot of position logs with clearly accessible time stamps are necessary, at least so I have read)
Cheers,

Cleb

thanks OP, ordered one
#27
excellent, esp with tomtom on it
#28
How do you get Tom Tom on it?

The maps it came with are awful.
#29
Just put it on another SD card, I think you have to change the .exe file name.

You can find more info here:

I assume you just opened the sys.txt in notepad. What tweaking did you have to make to get rid of the stuttery Text to Speeh and disappearing roads? Could you give me a link or a pm to instruct me on what I have to change.

Thanks

Anyone know what size SD card this comes with? It says it takes cards up to 4gb, I'm assuming it will take SDHC cards then?
