I saw this price drop yesterday and ordered one fro a friend. Also bought a kingston 2gig sd £3.71 card with it but that was not enough to get free delivery. So bought a wireless mouse at a little under 6 quid. Sorted :)

People don't seem to realise just how good this sat nav is! There is a specific pack that can be downloaded and installed for it to give it a improved interface, Tom Tom 7, speed cameras and much more. Making this the best value for money sat nav on the market, good find!!

I have the old v1. The original one I had had windows 4.2. Works well with a number of different apps.

I can't find a guide specifically for the v3 showing how to get WinCE running. Has anyone managed this yet?
#5
OP - not sure why you've added a £10 voucher - it's no use for this item.

Good price though.[/QUOTE]

didn't add it mate, just happened automatically?

Where do I download this pack? The navigation software that it comes with is AWFUL. I have installed tomtom on it which is much better.

Iv'e got the old version which is better built than this,I got this one for my son but its cheaply built compared to the first model.Still works just fine though.
#8
Respect to this item. Got one (albeit at a higher price) .. and rolled TomTom onto it - all is up and running.

A great device for half the price!

I got one of these about 2 days before the price dropped! :(

Anyway, someone had given me a link to buy a bike mount for it, but these new units have a 3 prong bracket rather than 4 prong. Anyone know where to find a 3 prong bike bracket for it?
#12
Where's the download section?

Don't worry, found it once I had registered.

I've got 2 version 1's - both have died. Not sure why...... but wont be buying another Navigon.
.

I have a v1 that i've used for mountain biking for a year.. so its had more abuse than any car would ever give it, and its working fine, touch wood. just careful not to get it too wet.. and a battery upgrade would be good.

anyone know what the v3 is like from a cycling POV?
#14
They get even cheaper!!

i have the old 4.3" navigo with tomtom software on and a tomtom go and i can say without hesitation that the navigo runs a lot better then the tomtom. Navigo has a more accurate touch screen, it runs faster and doesnt lag like a tomtom, it starts quicker, the screen is clearer even in the sun. The speaker is not quite as high quality as a tomtom but there is about 2% difference in quality, the navigo can also be turned up louder. The navigo is solid but not as pretty as a tomtom.
if you want a good satnav get a navigo and put tomtom software on. if you want a pretty box, a brand name and a slightly frustrating user experience pay the extra for a tomtom.
#17
Personally, I would put iGO8 on rather than TomTom - iGO8 has text to speech (says the name or number of the road rather than "take the next left"), it also shows which lane to use on the motorway as well as showing actual motorway signs, it shows an actual picture of landmarks as you approach them (buildings etc), it shows the terrain in 3D (like hills & mountains) and its speed camera warning actually calculates your average speed between average speed cameras - the version of TomTom you can put on this device does none of this.

iGO8 has much better features than TomTom and does not need to use any unlock process (which TT needs) - though TomTom has a more user friendly interface.

what software do you use for cycling? I would love an OS type map display with my current position - is there anything like that?
#19
Remember Ebuyer doesn't do free delivery to Northern Ireland! Even though they use Parcel Force for these small items, who don't charge extra for delivery to NI. I've tried complaining to their enotes system till I'm blue in the face - totally unfair and blatant at that!

PS the Navigo is a great unit, I got the slightly more expensive one with bluetooth and FM transmitter, works great with my iPhone.

Just install a version for which you have already own the licence!

Best Sat Nav on the market for the price. I have V1 with six diferent Sat Nav progs on it , Movies, Mp3's, games and PDA applications all running on a single 4GB SDHC card running in WinCE! Try doing that on a basic Tom Tom or Garmin.

In addition to PC Tailor, the forum below is very useful and a lot more in depth for those that want to legally get at the Win CE Operating System ...

Note that the Navigo V3... DOES NOT support SDHC cards when buying another SD card for it though ! :?
#31
think its been mentioned before that Transend 4gb non SDHC cards are still available and are meant to work in it
#32
I'm very close to buying this but after reading 'PC Tailor' and 'gpsunderground' It looks kinda hard for a novice like me to put a tomtom map on it.
My question is just how hard is it to do this stuff , is it a matter of downloading the map onto SD card and away you go or does it require file changing, installing craxcks, renaming and stuff ?
Thx

I think that if you have the mental capacity to drive and not crash, you have the mental capacity to put TT7 on this device. Just be patient and follow the instructions.

Does anyone know where I can get a bike mount for the v3?

I bought the wrong one (on the right) that has 4 'hooks'. As you can see from the bits on the left, I need it to have 3 hooks -

AndyCr15 sorry i can't help with that but thanks for posting and saving me 42.99 .. i also have that mount (its a standard PDA mount from herbert richter) and can't see a source for the 3 prong.
