#3
Has anyone got the instructions for installing TomTom on this?
#4

Great for you!
If you are planning to install some other software, please give us feedback :p

Can someone comment more on the "less compatible with non-standard party software" comment made in another thread? If the 4:3 one's gona run more stuff I can't see widescreen being such a pull :(
#9
I think the issue is that certain softwares are not as easy to get hold of in the widescreen version unless you pay the full retail price.

Working version of tomtom 6.2 for the navigo widescreen

YOU MUST:

1. put all the folders in the root of your SD card
2. Get yourself a map! and place in the mydocuments\tomtom\ directory
3. place the post code file in the zip folder

on the navigo widescreen, you must change the usual suspects to allow bootup into windows CE...
now, once you are here, you must make sure the taskbar is set to

"always be on top" and "autohide" - without this, the tomtom app will crash.

create a shortcut to the tomtom program file and place on your desktop - you will not be able to
use the usual navigo (yloader) interface to load up this software.
#11
Yep ! This one has software issues where as the original Navigo does not ! :?
#12
It took me weeks to install miomaps on this but you have to mess about with software.
But it does work eventually.
#13
any guides / walkthroughs on how to get things working then?
#14
If you go to thepctailor website it has the widescreen download on there. Just drag and drop the files to the root of your memory card and it might work.
The reason I say this is some widescreens like the one I bought had a problem booting with the language file.
Eventually I found the correct version on a ebuyer forum which had a link to a rehashed version of thepctailor download software.
I wish I had the link but like I said it took me weeks to do it as i was trying everything and when I came across the one that worked I was jumping around the room with joy!!
If i can remember rightly when you get to the link it says something like rapid share.

The Turbodog software that comes with this is Turbodog s**t!! But this machine with the MioMaps for the price is unbelievable.
#15
Found it!! this version worked for me it has been modified slightly from the thepctailor site.

MioMaps Version 3.3 WideScreen.
Mod edit: providing links to forums dedicated to providing illegal media downloads is not allowed on HUKD, link removed.
If you have the satnav you also have the software that was supplied and can back up your own copy.
#16
Why is this expired? Stocks are plentiful - 2725 in stock for next day delivery, and price is still an unbeatable 69.99

Whatever happend to people using a map?
Surely if it's illegal to use a mobile then these things should be banned also.
The amount of people I have seen narrowly avoid an accident because they are looking at a satnav screen is unbelieveable.
BAN THEM, BAN THEM ALL !!!!!! Mu ha ha ha ha lol
#19
grumblesheev.. do you think using your mobile or satnav is as dangerous as having 2 guns to kill people in your hands?? maybe im getting old in my age but where are you going to put your hands when you are drving??

Forum member 'Guv'' was suspended for a week for posting the same links in this thread a while ago in another Navigo thread a while back !

Does that mean it's ok to post links to pirate software in the Forums now ? :?
#21
I am not posting a link to Pirate software. Of course I have purchased a copy of my software and I need to back it up in case anything happens. Im only asuming that people have already purchased the license for their software and that this will be an easier way of putting the software on their Navigo.
#22
so tempted, but if I buy this, will have to wait even longer for a new mobile....damn....decisions, decisions...voted hot

With the current fuel prices - gone is the luxury of driving about cluelessly hoping to discover your intended destination. :? :x :? :x

Was only a friendly warning m8 ! :x

Posting dodgy links in the forums is against T&C's and may result in a fine against the owners of HUKD or worst case getting HUKD shutdown !

I doubt any of us want that.

a bit OTT peter.......Mecco was posting a friendly warning - he wasn't saying what you posted was unhelpful, neither did he threaten to report your post....

Does anyone know if this works with SDHC cards too - and if so to what capacity?

Thanks in advance.

Now up to £75......

Ibiza - if you read the reviews on the Ebuyer site (and also look on Ebuyer forum) you'll find some mentioned. Also look in the Navigo 3.5" thread for some recommendations. I think the 4 gb ones are okay - I've seen some posts mentioning they had problems with 8gb whilst others were okay......
#32
4Gig sdhc are ok. I would be cautious of anything bigger
#33
Just got one of these at £69.99 and using an 8GB SDHC card running Tomtom 7 with no issues at all. :)
