can you use tomtom maps on this model like you can on the cheap binatone?
#2
To be fair the iGo and Navigon mapping is miles ahead of the TomTom stuff, I find the displays clearer to read and the voice commands more succinct and easier to follow
#3
great find

Just reserved one, thanks OP!

Of course it has voice instructions. It just does not have text to speech, so it wont speak the actual street names, unlike some others in the navigon range.

Well, if it's true that the two devices have ONLY JUST been released (as those articles seem to suggest) then Halfords could be breaking the law (all items must have been at a price for 28 days or more before a shop can say that it "was" that price), but since those articles are only from early December, the prices could have been slashed previously...

If you read the replies it says it does have verbal instructions - the questioner has probably got confused with the absence of 'Text To Speech' - where it says the names of roads. Please check facts before rubbishing a good product.

I got one of these for a Christmas present and have already installed iGO8 navigation software on it along with a media player and some games via an SD Micro card. Will probablly install TomTom as well.

The Navigon navigation software is also very good.
#14
Hot - I've got a Navman S70, but the software is pish, so I put IGO8 on it. I'm a very happy bunny now.

as previously stated only going on the halfords Q&A site and reviews,so facts were checked

So you checked one site and actually believed what somebody that works for Halfrauds says about their products. :w00t:
After your obviously intensive research into the product :whistling: ,you feel the need to rubbish someone's posting and then continue to try to justify your error.
You were wrong, admit it or just leave it. :santa:

Also lots of ways to get other software and utilise the windows platform on this device. From what I've read anyway... can't wait to get my hands on mine.

how do you get the safty camera database to work? do u have to pay for it or can u use pre-installed ones? ive got one of these any it doesnt show any
#22
You need to turn the database on as its off by default, is on one of the menus, a great wee unit for the price, clear and nice night time colours so easy on the eyes
