Good deal if you can get one - picked mine up from Harrogate today - they have a few more on the shelf

This model Navigon has the best maps (latest) and very good lane navigation, but no text-to-speech (doesn't tell you the street name). Still better than the TomTom One, tho (I've got both).

Just reserved..said it was the display but I guess it will be okay..heated

There will be lots of GPS bargains now that Nokia are providing free maps with drive and walk navigation instructions. TomTom's shares fell yesterday following Nokia's announcement.

That's just panik. The gps phones are over £200 to buy and not suitable for drive navigation as a dedicated satnav. Can't really compare them at the mo, may in the future when the phones become cheaper and have better screen.

Thanx for that

Since u have both(tom tom and this) how is the satellite pick up time as quite a few reviews state is starts real slowwww?

halfords takes reservations, and then calls to say "it's no longer in stock" meaning the staff kept if for themselves. Best to call straight away after reserving and tell them to put it aside, before the rest of the staff see the offer.

Why? and what do think is the best on offer?

For reliability, speed and user friendliness, you should go for a Garmin every time.

The 265WT has everything you are ever likely to need on it ,for £149..Great price for a great unit!
#21
Thanks for this just reserved one from Falkirk. :)
#22
I have the Navigon 4350 with which I've been very pleased so far. Not the same unit, I know, but a good range in general, I think.

haha typical salesman upselling. Navigons are great value, bit slow to aquire satellites but very good value. www.trustedreviews.co.uk seem to agree to that too. Theyve reviewed the 1210 and it got a recommended award.

Looks like a good unit, - about to get myself a car, so picked one up. Plenty of stock at Lincoln Tritton Rd, display model only left at Lincoln Outer Circle Road.

Me too!

Well, I saw one on their website in my local store. The site was so slow reserving it that I phoned them and asked them to lay it aside. I then poped in 15 min later. They sold it to me, but told me that someone had reserved in online after I'd phoned, so now they'd need to phone him and cancel.

I asked did my call take priority over his reservation. They said "no, it is first come firsr served". Which makes me wonder the point of reserving at all.

Anyway thanks to the poster I have my first sat nav.
#28
Thanks poster
Just picked the last one up at Kirkstall, Leeds.
Not bad for £50 + 2 years of map updates
#29

I checked stock for Crawley and it said zero, but went in store and there are about 20 on the shelf all marked up at £89, but scanning at £50 as per the offer.

Hope this helps some people. Got mine and it is a nice bit of kit.

Good price I have just reserved one. I have a Navman but for some reason it has stopped talking. I can't seem to get it to work and I have had it for over 2 years. This one sounds good and would probably be the cost to repair the Navman:thumbsup:
