If you shop at Shop.com you can also get 6% cashback from Quidco. But Shop.Com is a 'portal'(?) to Tecno with which your order is actually placed with. If you wish to order direct from Tecno, then there is no quidco but I think there is a 5% discount vouncher on here somewhere? So its a trade off whether you want to save a few extra pennies or not actually spend a bit in the first place...

I've had my eye down to one of these for quite a while now. I want one mostly for the optional TMC module which is about £53 on Amazon.

I haven't tried a Navman myself but i've heard that the one negative criticism people speak about is that the units can be quite low volume wise, even with your radio turned down quite low.
#8
I have one of these already. I don't have anything to compare it with, but if I'm using mine I don't have the radio on anyway, but the volume does seem to be a tad low, however it is still clear enough to hear. It's personal choice I guess, but if ever I was listening to directions from my partner, pre-Navman, I always turned off the radio to be able to concentrate anyway, so it's no change for me.

I have a Navman 530 and yes, the volume is a little low for speed camera alerts, but otherwise it is fine.

I wouldn't buy the traffic module if I was you. I have it and I have found it is utterly useless. It gets its info far to late so I can be sitting in a jam way before I am told about it.

Nice find :) Thanks all ;-)

The TMC's never going to be bang up to date. I checked for accidents online before I left work this evening and then got stuck in an accident and it wasn't reported for quite a while after on the radio, which is where the TMC gets its updates from.

My point exactly and why I wouldn't have bought the traffic module had I reaslised how useless it would be in practice. The Navman satnav itself, however, is excellent.

It's £124.80 now despite still being out of stock.
#14
This is now £124.80 from Amazon including delivery.
#15
Now in stock at Tecno for £117.66 using the voucher.

Has anyone had problems with the discount code?

I applied it but it did not reduce the total price, although it did recognise the code by including text saying there was 5 % off. Is it a deduction that comes after you submit the order?

Thanks.

I drive round in a van all day and I hear mine fine, I couldn't get the 5% Tecno code to ever work when I was buying my F20 a few weeks back. I am totally amazed by the thing, it is soooooo stress free now getting from place to place, it's clear to see where you're going, the verbal instructions are precise and the speed camera warnings are invaluable. The only criticism I would have is that in daylight mode the screen is a bit pale, but I run mine permanently in Night mode and it is darker and clear as a bell

I had same problem a few weeks ago, the 5% off code never worked

Gone down a bit - today £116.01 at Amazon

From my understanding Navman are releasing a whole load of updates and addon packages for the F20. So expect the standalone version to come down further in price aver the next month.

Navman F20

I have noticed that my nearest shopping centre (Glasgow Fort, opened nearly 2 years ago) now doesn't show on the maps or POIs and that the Erskine Bridge still shows as being a Toll Road but hasn't been for some time now.

Maps seem to be a touch out of date, and that's me just started.

TMC traffic information delivered over FM is NOT the same as that on your radio. RDS radio announcements are invariably out of date.

Trafficmaster information is much more reliable. I should know I've been using a Trafficmaster Freeway for close to 10 years now. It is so accurate I have never let the £30 p.a. subscription lapse.

For more information on what TMC is see http://www.trafficmaster.co.uk/page.cfm?key=RDS_TMC

However I think that maybe Trafficmaster are not the only providers of such information. You may need to check for each satnav system which information provider that actually use.

I know that the Talex Navigon systems do use Trafficmaster, but I don't know about Navman or Garmin or Tomtom. Does anyone else know?
