Went instore to Staples (Southport) today and saw a Navman ICN720 GPS on clearance for £69.91.

Don't know much about it to be honest, but details can be found on the Navman site:
http://www.navman.com/Navman/Templates/productinformation____12032.aspx

Thought it may be a good deal for someone. THey also had some Binatone ones on clearance but they're cheaper at Amazon. Also, you may have vouchers you may wish to get rid of if you're part of Staples Rewwrds.

I had one of these but unfortunately it stopped charging and they are great (now replaced with a Tom Tom One which is poor in comparison). Mapping software is good, quick to update but maps now about 2 years behind. I think the rrp for these were £450 when launched.

If you see one at £70 snap it up quick. Voting hot and repped

I'd buy one if it was online - unfortunately there isn't a Staples near me...

I suspect the cold voters are doing so because they don't see the point in buying an antique.

This was an excellent sat nav in its day, but that day was a long time ago. The maps are ancient and can't be updated. Sat navs are definitely one of those things where you should avoid old models at all costs.

I should know as I have the ICN530 model which shares the same maps and routing software.

Doesn't explain why the Tom Tom one is rubbish compared to the ICN720.....this is a hot deal as it still works wayyyy better than a new Tom Tom. I'd rather have older technology that works than new technology that doesn't.

Its still a good deal.

I think that you are missing the point I was trying to make. It doesn't matter how good the technology is if the maps are ancient and can't be updated. That is the situation with the Navman.
