is it just me or does anyone else HATE 2k sports games?

As much as I hate to admit it, EA destroy these almost everytime.

Tempting for a fiver (Still have my voucher code), but meh... struggling to see past 2k...

any comments?

Gonna take a punt on this, not played since nba 2k6 which wiped the floor with the ea version for fun.

From what I hear the 2K sport games are supposedly inferior to the other 200n sport games.
EA does seem to have screwed things up since joining the next gen hardware, their only saving grace was the fantastic Dead Space.

NBA 2k9 < EA NBA Live
EA Fifa 09 < ProEvo

The Dreamcast versions were amazing back in the day.

The NBA2k series has been consistently better than the NBA Live series for the last 5 years.

I stand corrected. When I last looked into the 2K -v- 200n games, I was looking at NHL 2K -v- NHL 2009 with the latter supposedly being better.
Plus the MLB 2K9 is, according to reviews, shocking.

...BUT we are talking about NBA 2K9 here so perhaps I should just keep quiet.

This game is a million times better thank NBA 2009. It's a lot more realistic and the controls are far more intuitive.

Whats main difference between NBA and EA? never played any of them and for a tenner seems tempting!

at CEX...

We sell for : £28.00
We buy for : £12.00
Give exchange : £16.00

worth it for a small profit.

There is no way that somebody who has actually played both EA's version of NBA and this could ever say that it was better.

NBA 2K series has ALWAYS been better than EA's attempts, hence why EA tried to buy 2K sports division from take two last year -

Everyone knows EA would make it a lot worse - analysts even de-valued 2K's stock when EA were sniffing around!

Awesome game for the money

This was £2 cheaper there on the monday deal a fortnight back, so glad i grabbed it then!

The visuals are jaw droppingly good. Thought the gameplay is quite good, I've been through the tutorials but still can't remember the advanced running moves, i'm sure the twist from defensive shield isn't actually possible to do deliberately!

dam i just paid 14.60 at asda online :(

I lost a bunch of my life to 2k8, great game. Didn't get around to buying this as I Imagined it'd be very similar, for a tenner though I may as well take a punt.

Btw, have a look round the net for some slider settings if you get this, the default sliders make it unrealisticly easy to dunk and the CPU makes some really annoyingly impossible shots.

In the past 5 years, the 2k series have been superior in terms of basketball games. Even back on the Dreamcast.

Them Live series are nothing but dunkathon contests LOOOL

have to agree,...

i can have nba live on the hardest setting and get a dunk everytime , and win by 50 points lol

nba 2k9 alot more realitic... graphics are supurb (just been playin it)
#23
there is actually one thing that i prefer on nbalive and that's the controls...

i jus don't like having same shoot button for layup/dunk and jumpshot...

its a bit like the old nba live controls... back in '98... =/
