Have people got theirs from last time this offer was on yet?

Also they're pretty much useless. Everyone knows that leaving a light on/stuff on standby etc uses elec costing money. If you don't want to spend that money then turn the stuff off. It's not rocket science!!!

You shouldn't need a monitor to tell you that.

There was something about it (and a standby saver) being free for British Gas customers.
I don't have the newspaper to check tho, anyone got any info on that?
#3
Hi, I sent of for this last time.
It's great it shows you exactly how much electricity you are using, pence per minute, CO2 output etc.
I've got the kids trying to keep it as low as possible, till the novelty wears off !!!!!
Definately worth getting.

..if its cold..please state where yoiu can get one cheaper (in real life) as I am looking for one..thanks;-)

Sorry, a couple of things I would add are

1. It did take quite a while to get delivered
2. I paid for courier postage, I think it was an extra couple of quid, but it was still delivered by my post man. So save yourself some money and just get normal postage.

Cold from me. Not because you can get it cheaper but because the product itself is pointless. You don't need a monitor to tell you how much electricity you're using. If you want to save electricity then turn stuff off. It's as simple as that.

Turn off lights when you don't need them, turn off the set top boxes when not using them.

Can't you just go and take a meter readings, and work out now much electricity costs you?
Would be useful if you could use it on individual appliances (like the ones LiIdl & Aldi were selling).
If you can't then it's a waste of money.

We got ours from the first offer - it came last week. It is useful for us as the house has several devices that need to stay on for a variety of reasons (I've got one computer that backs up all our digital photos to a server in the USA and also backs up a mates server) and lets us see the 'base' level of the house at rest (1.5kw). The hoover and the kettle on at the same time is scary...:w00t:

of course it does..you see how much you are using..you turn off said appliance and do the maths..alternatively you could see the reading and then turn said appliance on and do the maths again!

Also not everyones ,meter is accessable..min ei in cupbard under stairs blocked by sofra because its an old house not designed for large sofas.

The box in the top left of the pic is actually a clamp which fits arounf the live cable going into your fuse box. The display is then fitted somewhere in the house - or carried around - and gets a wireless signal from the box with the blue button.

This is good to keep mounted near front door for verification that you've turned everything off b4 you go out.

Missus has a habit of leaving hair straighteners on!

I voted this hot.

I think it is great and it makes you realise how much money you are spending and the impact you are having on the environment.

I take the point that you just need to switch things off, but it's easy to forget and even easier to be lazy and just leave it as you are going out. But not if you know how much you are spending. It also keeps a running total so you know what your bill should be.

Excellent, easy to fit bit of kit

Clearly hot.

So if you're a British Gas customer do you still have to collect all 3 tokens. The application form in the paper isn't very clear IMO.

its implied that you do. as its an additional extra for bg customers..as a side to the energy monitor

Don;t bother with these - not very accurate and only tell you what you already know - leaving things on costs £££

All suppliers will commence the roll out of Smart Meters from 2011 - which will give you information for both your Gas and Electricity supplies.

These devices only give info on Elec supply.

British Gas sent me one a few weeks ago after I complained that there was an issue with my electricity. £227 over a 3 month summer period is excessive in anyone's books, especially when I don't use a dryer.
I'm finding it extremely useful as I know exactly how long my teenager has been in the shower and if they turn on the tv or the light to read once they have gone to bed

Oh ok, I'll wait for one of those then.

... is it 2011 yet?

I got to late for the phone in for the code. Can anyone post it please?
#23
I think it's a unique number so I think you might be out of luck.
I missed it too :/
#24
I ordered the one from the daily mail special a couple of months ago. I love it. Take it around the house and shout at the kids when it is over 10p a minutes at normal (Non shower, hot water) times of the day.
#25
Nope the code is the same for everyone..... can someone post it please?
#26
Where is the token in todays Mail on Sunday? Been through the paper and could not find it. I did not buy the paper last week but phoned up and got the code.
#27
Page 59.

I still need the code, please post someone.
#28
I am on page 59, but can't see a token, just a headline "Energy giants told to justify debit charges" and some other stories.
#29
Found it! It's in the suppliment inside!
#30
Looks like we can all apply again then! New form this week with the code and bonus token.
Must be a cock up.
