That's how things work, for example I always vote cold on ****** games even when they're cheap. I don't care if the new Bratz DS game or Wii shovelware game is only £5, it's awful and I'll vote it cold because no one should be buying those types of things. This one isn't quite the same because rump steak is great and healthier than ribeye, but hey ho, we can vote what we want.

Actually, it's not how things work. You are voting on whether something is a good price, not whether you personally like it or agree with it. The following quote is copied from the Newcomers Advice on HUKD & General Forum Usage, and I have highlighted the bit that is particularly relevant to what you have posted ...

If you are cold voting a deal, it is good forum etiquette to post a note in the deal as to why you have done so. There is nothing more confusing to a new member, than to post a deal, only to see it go cold with no explanation. If you found the item cheaper elsewhere, please let us know where and how. If you have no interest or knowledge about the deal at all, please don’t vote cold, just move on.

HUKD has systems in place to detect serial cold voters, and it may lead to a ban from the forums, as it is against the code of conduct.

Please try and follow the rules. HUKD is for everyone - not just you. :)

But I do have an interest and knowledge in videogames, and I don't think £5 for a Bratz game would be a good price.

I also agree that all this shovelware is bad for the industry BUT I have an interest in saving money and if the latest Bratz game is only £5 then I'm all over it - if only because I know I can take it to CEX and trade in for more than double what it cost me. Few copies and I might get a free game out of it.

Oh and PS Steak is voted hot!!!

It's just an example, I hate all the "RAWR IF YOU'RE GONNA VOTE COLD THEN POST A REASON" stuff I see here, it's a guideline not a requisite. I'm entitled to an opinion like everyone else and something that's a good deal in your eyes may not be one in mine. Is this steak a good deal? Yeah i think so, but someone could come up with a good reason for why it isn't, I'm sure (any butchers here?)

You seem to be completely missing the point of this site. If everywhere charges £12 for a kg of steak, (or £10 for a Bratz game); then there is one place that charges only £6 for a kg of steak (or £5 for the Bratz game) then that makes it a hot deal because everywhere else is charging twice the price. Do you understand? Whether you like the product or not is irrelevant - it is the price people are interested in.
If you then find yet another place that is selling the steak even cheaper (or the game even cheaper) then you are justified in voting cold and saying where you found it cheaper. I hope this makes sense - it's not rocket science.

The best way is to offer your valued opinion and then not vote either way - seems a fair middle ground to me. If a game, as in the example is an abomination, then it ought to be said but the deal itself shouldn't be knocked down for sure.

Anyway...sry to butt in for a second. The meat deal seems very good to me - voted hot.

hi got the steak i fried it and was very tender :thumbsup:

Bought 4 packs last night - came to about £7 in total for good sized steaks. Not bad.

3 packs said British on it and one pack said Irish if that helps. Will be trying tonight with some pepper sauce, cant beat it!

Yes, you're right, I forgot about that aspect of this site. It is invaluable for sharing information on products.

Good idea, we bought some, ate it tonight ......
Not as good as it looks, sorry will not be buying any more beef from ASDA, low quality supermarket produce.
