Went into my local gamestation and they have Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Limited Edition and normal edition on offer this week for £9.99 I know that some of the preowned games if you wish to go online with them like this one will require the activation code never to have been used. So please dont vote cold due to this fact as I feel that at £9.99 this is a great buy! I did not look for the xbox version so that could possibly be on offer also, if I go back I will update. The guy behind the counter did say this was nationwide and its the offer of the week.

**UPDATE**

I just went back to the gamestation store in Widnes where I bought the game and I can confirm the offer is still on and that it is also £9.99 on the Xbox also. The guy said they are doing it at this price as a pricematch for Grainger games and should be nationwide and he wouldnt know why it would still be £17.99 in other stores. He said if you see it dearer get them to ring the widnes branch and they can conrifm the price. Hope this helps :-)

I would imagine the activation code to be for specific bonus features, not for online play.
I've bought many second hand such as NFS Shift and it's never been a problem

About the price it should be in my opinion. Nowhere near as good as NFS: Most Wanted or Burnout Paradise.
suspended#8
Yes as previously stated you will need to purchase an additional code for online play..... as you do for most EA games these days.
#9
Can anyone confirm this is nationwide??
#10
People are gullible..if people spoke with their wallets then there wouldnt be this pay for online play crap...same as paying for dlc content already on the disc.

The days of buying games and borrowing them to your mates are long gone.

Hot for price but these online codes are peeing me right off :(

Even worse for xbox as you are already paying for live in the first place!!!

Boycott the games then, plenty of alternatives. They'll soon get the message :)
#14
Does anyone actually know how much the code costs from the ps3 store? I've wanted this game for a while and have held back until a brand new copy becomes cheap.
#15
not sure on ps3,, but it cost 800pts for xbox
#16
Brilliant.
#17
How much is the code on ps3?
#18
If you already have an EA account I'm not sure you need the code to play on-line? When I bought a new copy of Tiger Woods 2011 I used the included code to create an EA on-line account, then when I bought a 2nd hand copy of Medal Of Honor I was able to play online without entering a code using my existing EA account.

The game is rubbish - get 5 seconds in front - use the turbo - use the NOS - then everyone floats past like u r stopped.

Stay clear of it.

not as good as burnout takedown, which it tries to be.
#23
This price is defiantly not nationwide, pricing error which would have already been fixed.
#24
It's deffo not nationwide.

went to the branch at Manchester & it's priced at 17.99 both on PS3 & Xbox.
#25

I've brought these games 2nd hand from Game & Gamestation in the past and they will take them back or swap if the code doesn't work.

was that the one in town i'm guessing?

For the price this is a must buy.

The best thing about it is playing as the cops. Reminds me of the old Chase HQ for the Spectrum.
#31
360 version is a tenner at Grainger games got it today i can put up a pic if required - also 99p more online
#32
Maybe a silly question.....is this the latest NFS game?? Thanks folks

No, that would be SHIFT 2.
#34
So is this definitely not a nationwide deal then?? Anyone else seen it at £9.99 apart from OP?

They all are - but the single player should not b rubbish
#36
Online play is where the game is at, so buying pre-owned most of the time the online pass is used.

So add about £7 for the online pass.
#37
I thought the demo for this was amazing and I've never been disappointed with an NFS game so I'm gonna continue to buy them. ;)

Was only out end of last year, and it definitely isn't rubbish. Its great fun with your mates online but also I really enjoyed the single player game. Not sure how much the online pass is, it was free when new. I think this got better reviews than Shift 2 which is more of a pure racing game.

Same as all past Burnout games (I know it's not a Burnout game but it's the by the same developers).

I played this a bit but thought it was really disappointing. All the tracks were straight with just light bends. Felt stupid.

They will continue to do online passes to put a bung in the pre owned market, Games publishers have already said they want pre owned market gone.....
