So instead you're happy buying the YLOD-3 ? ;)

Your entire comment makes no sense. Why would they discount something if it is selling well? They wouldn't as that is an obviously stupid way of making less money. They discount things that aren't selling to encourage people to buy them. MNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGHHHHH!

What on Earth, is this a good price, yes, the Xbox 360 is good console even though I had 2 failures on one, given 2 because fail so much by friends...PS3, WII, PSP, DS, PC (all I have) are great entertainment beasts, for reason failure ratio is so muchhhhh lower....I wont ever buy Xbox 360 ever again (may buy 720), even so microsoft still havnt fixed failures on the current model, just renamed error codes. On a serious note I am boxing up an Elite to send back to mickeysoft for E74 Error, truly unbelievable workmanship....
Voting on price....and quality....

Anarchist is right :)

The reason they discounted COD was cos they had a large supply and it wasn't selling so well at that time. So they reduced the price to sell more copies.

defard is the idiot here.

Thats right, they had spent 50 Million developing and marketing (With a hype machine in effect for the previous 12 months - and the largest Pre-order take up for a game to date) and they woke up one day and thought they had another 'E.T' on their hands......whats that....they didnt?

Dont quite understand what you mean when you say it was a 'loss leader' by the retailers to bring in more footfall......oh wait...I do....cuz im not stupid (In fact ive got a high I.Q with a doctorate to boot) ROFL

You need to go and learn basic economics.

They NEVER 'reduced' the price of MW or MW2 until absolutely ages after its launch. There was a price war between the supermarkets at LAUNCH ONLY, to offer it as a loss leader. This was successful for the supermarkets, they received a massive influx of custom (new and existing), increased their brand awareness, and improved the image of their entertainment divisions which were largely ignored by the gaming masses until then.

After the launch promotion, both MW and MW2 weren't discounted for absolutely ages. Nearly nine months after the launch of MW2 it was still selling for £35-£40 at most places, because it was still selling in droves. MW was almost the same. MW2 was only eventually discounted due to the imminent launch of Black Ops, when people stopped buying it.

Which only proves and reinforces my point. Its very very basic and simple economics, that somebody who alleges to have a 'doctorate' (ROFL btw, please entertain me more ta) should be able to take a better grasp of.

Oh, also somebody with a "high I.Q" should probably understand that it should be abbreviated as I.Q. - and they probably would also not be using txt spk lik 'cuz'

In short, you = fail.

Has anyone ordered and received this?

I ordered it on the 4th, wondering why it hadn't turned up yet, I logged into my blockbuster account to see "Order cancelled"... Yet, looking at my email, I have not received any emails other than the order confirmation.

I've then looked at my bank account and the money was taken out, but has never come back in.

I've sent an email asking what they are playing at, but in the mean time, I was hoping to see whether anyone else had problems?

Cheers

Yet the payment was taken! Ooooh i'm going to give them some stick ;)

What's more annoying, is that it's appearing in stock on their site, but at an inflated price.

Surely if they have taken my money, they have to fulfil the order?

http://www.blockbuster.co.uk/BBSiteContent/Xml/Help/DVDSalesTerms.xml#payment

Oh dear, Blockbuster's have been very naughty, very naughty in deed!

Meh! Ok, apparently, even thought my natwest online banking has never shown pre-authorsations in my statements before, they have not taken the money, they have simply pre-authorised it.

They are sticking to their guns by saying they are out of stock.

To make it up to me, they're going to send me an email this afternoon with dates when it will be back at this price.

I'll keep you up to date!

Update:

Dear customer,

By now you have received an email from our warehouse, informing you that your order at blockbuster.co.uk has been cancelled due to being out of stock.

Please accept our apologies, due to unprecedented demand for a handful of titles this weekend, we were unable to fulfill all orders - having ran out of stock at this special promotional price.
This was a genuine mistake on our part - we believed that we had more stock than we actually had. We want to do what we can to make this right.

We've cancelled your order in order to clear this from the system - so you're not waiting on back order.
However, we are expecting more stock into our warehouse any day now. When this arrives, we will drop you an email a day before this is announced to the rest of the public - to ensure that you don't miss out.

We have doubled the amount of stock we would normally order for such promotions to ensure that we do not run out in future.
We appreciate your interest, and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this may have caused you.

Kind Regards,

Jeremy Bannister.

I have also received the same set of correspondence.

It sounds like they priced it incorrectly on purpose to increase their account membership numbers without any intention of fulfilling the orders.

Yet another retailer to add to the list of time-wasters who will never receive any further orders from me.

Just buy the Limited Edition from GamePlay/Gamestation/Game.co.uk for cheaper than Blockbuster were going to charge us (initially).

I did...

That'll learn 'em!

I also bought "Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallow - Part 1" [PS3] that was part of my cancelled Blockbuster order at the same time earlier this evening.
