borrowed this from a mate. its very arcady and the cut scenes wear on a bit with the "story" but its fun enough. Certainly worth a blast for this price. Nothing like the newer game - Shift, which is just racing and a bit more serious. but still easy to access.

This was a bad game, even compared to the previous failures of the NFS franchise like Pro Street.

Undercover sees NFS return to an extremely arcadey handling racer in an open world city. Sadly despite being open world there is nothing to do outside of races, so you just plod along doing the next suggested race on the map.

The handling in this game is a joke. Every race is just hold the accelerator down - the game brakes automatically when you release, you don't even need to press the brake. If you use the brake as you would expect to in a racer, you will lose badly. The handling guides you round bends, so the slightest movement of the thumbstick in the right direction and you will get round fine.

The AI in the game has 2 levels. Before the auto-update the AI is stupidly easy to beat. After the auto-update the AI jumps up to a point where it cheats, and rival cars reach speeds not possible for them.

If you want a NFS game and only have a fiver to spend, look for a copy of Most Wanted or Carbon. Given that PGR 4 and Forza 2 have both been posted as deals for less than a fiver in the last week, it is really hard to recommend getting NFS Undercover
