There was a deal for a retro pi kit. Came with two controllers, sd card, HDMI cable and the PI. Can't for the life of me find it though.

Found it. It's £65, so not sure if it's much of a deal.

Can you recommend a decent source of roms for retro pie? On Cool roms it seems like 50% of them don't work when loaded onto the device..

Emuparadise should be ok, I'm sure they do full rom sets too.

Google "rom set 6666" and that'll have everything you need :)

retroarch uses checksums for ROMs and I'm not sure we can discuss where to obtain copyrighted ROMs.

Only legal method is to either buy from somewhere which sells them (e.g. Sega on Steam for the Mega Drive ROMs) or abandonware (but I haven't tested these).

The internet archive may also have some ROMs (of course I only refer to the legal ones on there).

Ah right. I thought that might be the case. The controllers look ok. They’re a fiver each from same website. Personally, I use an nvidia shield TV for my emulation needs. Obviously, a lot more expensive than a PI, but it’s a nice bit of kit.
