Beneath the familiar streets of London lies another world, and Richard Mayhew is about to be plunged into a dark odyssey through London Below. On his way to dinner with his fiancee he sees a wounded girl on the sidewalk, and his efforts to help her end the life he knows. The next morning, he is a cipher, erased from existence and consigned to a subterranean world of danger and shadows

One of the most acclaimed fantasy novels in recent years, NEVERWHERE was originally a six-part BBC television series. Rarely seen since its initial broadcast, the visionary tale was the first story written directly for the screen by Neil Gaiman, the prolific genius behind the DC Comics The Sandman series and the best-selling novel American Gods.

Extras:
* Audio Commentary with Neil Gaiman
* Production Interview with Neil Gaiman
* Photo Gallery
* Character Descriptions
* Neil Gaiman Biography

SelectCheaper.com has this 1p cheaper but only 2 in stock, whilst most of the main retailers has this for around £12. There is a 2 disc US Region version but there doesn't appear to be any difference in the special features between the two that I can tell.

I have already got this from Sendit.com within a few days of ordering as I know their dispatch times are a bit hairy at times. Sigh, it's already been more than 10 years since this was on TV...

I watched this again just before Christmas (Amazon had it for about 9 quid)....sometimes you should just have fond memories of a show & not look back....

A nice idea hampered by the budget that makes it look like late Dr Who episodes (filmed with the wardobe dept supplied by a charity shop).

Good price all the same. Not looking to rain on your parade Rem!

No worries, reminds me of the early production values of Red Dwarf - classics never die.

Worth noting in the novelization by Neil Gaiman the plot and characters are generally the same as in the series, but the book allowed Gaiman to expand & elaborate on certain elements of the story. Hunt it down if you like the show.
There was a 9 issue comic book run by Vertigo that was based on the novel & so was even further removed from the TV show. All 9 issues were released as a graphic novel @ the start of last year.

Not read it in years but I read Christopher Fowler's "Roofworld" not long before this came out & it was like a rooftop version of Gaiman's 'London below'....maybe worth looking out if you enjoy Neverwhere.....
(Fowler's first novel so a little rough around the edges, but again, some nice ideas)
