never heard of the make before but went into netto yesterday and they have the EXACT same tv in the same box & model number (c1973f) the only difference being the the make is cello. they are selling it for £230!

its wall mountable (not included) and has an extra power saving feature where if you press the power button & not the standby it turns the tv off as though you had turned it off at the socket!

I have 2 of these tv's and can't fault them. I was dubious about buying an unknown brand (mines Cello) but see that Marks and Spencer also stock them and I think Next may have done too (I could be wrong here). Anyway, our 2 have been fine since April and I paid a lot more than £169!!

Had a look in two Morrison stores today and no sign of these TVs or this offer.

Is it nationwide?

I just bought one of these and it is quite a good little set. The picture is fine and plays any Dvds I have thrown at it inc copied ones [backups]. The sound is not the best I have heard on a small Tv but it will be fine for a small room [bedroom or kitchen]. The look of it is very good as well.

Do you know if it will play divx?

Thinking of getting one for my daughter @ uni, just need to make sure it's compatibale with all the divx material around these days.

Thanks

Sorry I do not have any divx to try. I read in a review that the cello version was multi regional out the box But again I do not have any to test it.

I bought one of these for my nan a few months back when they were in offer in Asda. Nice looking set and a decent price but the sound is absolutely awful, and I don't mean in that AVForums sense of "There's no bass and mid-range treble", I mean once you go above a certain level the sound distorts like crazy. It makes it unwatchable. The quality when it was hooked up to a PC over VGA was also questionable, reminded me of looking at a clapped out 15" CRT. I would advise that you shop around

None the less, here are two pictures I took when I initially set it up.

If he has an xbox 360 then he already has a dvd player (and a much better quality one than the one inside this one). I'd go for something like this;

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146567 - 19" LG LCDTV with freeview - £154 with free delivery (select super saver option)

Or possibly Argos if you want to pick it up - Acoustic Solutions 19" LCD with freeview - £159. I've got an Acoustic Solutions set myself (Non-freeview model) which is hooked up to my 360 and it does the job fine.

Hi

Does anyone know if the sound problem is with the tv or the speakers?
I saw these today in Morrisons and was thinking of linking it to the stereo but am reluctant to spend this much cash if the sound is distorted?

Thanks

It'd be hard to say, I never tried hooking it up to external speakers. When we had the TV hooked up to an aerial and we were watching basic freeview the problem wasn't too apparent. You could set the volume at a decent enough level (for a small room) and it was ok. However we then hooked it up to a Sky Box and you had to keep the volume down to just barely audible levels to prevent hiss and crackle. Same for when we hooked up the PC via 3.5mm jack.

I think the tinny sound is because the speakers are actually inside the Tv behind the screen. That means that the sound is coming from the back of the set. I have just hooked it up to Sky Hd and tried it through my sound system and it sounded ok.

Just bought one for the bedroom! So far so good! Sound is fine and picture is great.

Does anybody know the code to control the volume on sky remote though???? :?

EDIT: IT WON'T PLAY ANY DVD'S !!!!! WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK : (

Works a treat, inlcuding playing the DVDs.
Didn't realise it had an analogue as well as a digital tuner.

Great for the bedroom, sound is okay

All well apart from not playing dvds!!!

Phoned Morrisons but they had none left in either of my local branches

So, I phoned the number enclosed in the box (contrast technologies), reported the fault and they are delivering me a new one tomorrow by courier! How easy was that????

Why can't the 'big brand names' have customer service like that??!!

irvin38a, you did see that you have to load the DVD's the wrong way around. Looking at the screen you have to put the DVDs in mirror side facing you/Label side facing away from you.

The DVD does play Divx and AVI - handy!

Anyone suffer from weak signal strength? I live in great area for reception of digital and analogue, I can see a TV mast from my house (Sandy Heath) so you would expect it to be good! All my other TV's pick up signals great even with just aerial lead attached. One old freeview box picks up great also using the built-in basic round aerial that used to be attached to small portable TV's. My Neon seems to pick up these signals very weakly no matter what aerial I use (thanks Argos 16 day return policy). It does need an aerial connected to get something and position does matter so I know the signal is getting through to the tv. Does anyone else have similar, ie known good signal on other TV's but the neon is weak. Booster perhaps?

juat bought one 2 day and it do play divx

[SIZE="4"]i have had two of these t.v's and and i am appauled at the quality, the first one we had to take back and exchange because the power button had jammed and wouldn't switch on and the second one after being taken apart by a professional, which i was told by him that i was lucky it didnt catch on fire due to melted cables and burn marks around the power wires.

I would not recmmend this to anybody as it is a safety issue and wouldn't want to put them at risk knowing they aren't safe!!!

Hey there, i have the murphy version of this tv the same as all you have but mine is 26'inc

I have the sound problem also and i see the wires you talk about but this tv is secand hand and
as been used as a moniter for days on end and now become my main TV as my old tube tv as
clicked the can also 26'inc.

its not a fire risk sorry but i tested this and most its no way longer then is say for any tv anway as
you have trun them off it does say that and never had a problem.

I like to know the people that have used hifis for there would how did you do this? as i see no audo
out ports all in did you just use your skyboxs cables?

I want to know just for my DVD player my VM box will happly let me conect it to the hifi.

the tv is not the best but for its price i have to say its better then the philips 32 i had the sound is
choppy but part from that its offers a load of inputs and sharp view and the moniter mod well i
did see there was a problem with the lighting not after a few tweeks its was more sharper then
my acer LCD moniter.

Back to whan i like to know anyone able to huck up the hifi to the tv/dvd player of this deivce?
i have the C2673F modale from what the company says is just the same as the c15 but the dvd player is on the other side.
