NEON GENESIS EVANGELION is arguably one of the best, and certainly one of the most popular, anime series ever produced. Set in the 21st century, the futuristic sci-fi series takes place 15 years after a meteorite crashes into Antarctica and wipes out half the Earth's population, leaving the other half to contend with rising sea levels and other natural phenomena. Chief among the mysteries is the arrival of the Angels, an alien race who are possibly responsible for the subsequent attacks on Tokyo. Humanity's only hope for survival is a powerful robot warrior created by the NERV organization and piloted by a group of genius teenagers. Compelling and provocative, the mecha anime is presented in its entirety with this collection of episodes.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is the story of a reluctant young hero, called upon to pilot an immense robotic weapon in battle against alien invaders in the year 2015. As the remnants of the human race cower in subterranean cities, a deadly war is being waged on what is left of the planet. On one side are the mysterious beings known as Angels; on the other, the special agency NERV and mankind's last hope, the awe-inspiring Evangelions.

Packed in a limited edtion metal box with 7 x DVD thin cases, a 60 page booklet and 3 exlusive artcards, and packed with extras, this is the most complete Neon Genesis Box Set ever!!

Great series, I started collecting the platinum collection but was region 1. Only got 1 and 2, might get this.

Hot

Would be better if it came with End of Evangelion

That being said its my favourite TV series of all time so even if the price was double this then i'd still reccommend it

Blu-Ray version kthnx

This series was a letdown for me, though I've not seen the movies that make it all better apparently.
But okay price for the tinset, missed out on the last deal for this.

Super Hot! I got this at Xmas after putting off buying it for years. Have all the non platinum versions already plus director cuts of 25 and 26. Showed to the girlfriend she got hooked. She not a fan of the ending though. Showed her both the original version and death and rebirth and End of Evangelion.

Probably my favourite anime of all time. Ghost in the Shell is close though ;-)

This set has been half this price before, I would hold out if anyone is desperate to own it.

Yeah, sendit had it for £12.89 last April - I bought one :)

(God bless find-dvd...)

Very over hyped anime in my opinion. Extremely disapointing ending.

Here's a small list of some better ones.
Cowboy Beebop, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell stand alone complex, Van Helsing, Trigun.
I also have more suspect taste in Naruto, Bleach and One Piece but heyho ; )

It's all about perception. If you didn't understand the rest of the series, or have low concentration, then the ending will seem bad.

In my opinion, barring a real impact to it, the ending was pretty damn good, and is one of my favouite series of all time. But I'm a bit short of monies at the moment, so I'll have to leave it this time. :-(

P.S. The first series of Van Helsing was pretty poor, Ultimate OVA made it a whole lot better. Trigun = worst ending ever!

Samuari Champloo = I am looking for a samuari that smells of flowers + excellent music

Would not say its better in the slighest

If you want to see a decent samurai series ronin kenshin is the one!

It's absolutely over hyped yes, anyone who thinks otherwise needs to purge themselves of wapanese fever. But it's definitely still worth a watch. The movie; End of Evangelion actually fixes the dreadful ending.

I prefered the hentai version of this. Was much better

Someone traded this in at my work (Blockbuster) and I've had it reserved for ages, gonna buy it next week for £20, although it doesn't contain the art cards the discs are held in a fold out cardboard thing with illustrations rather than slim boxes. They also traded in a couple of other Neon DVDs, two of which were Death/Rebirth and End Of, I had End Of reserved too as I saw it was selling on amazon marketplace for a pretty penny so thought I better get it but it got sold :( never seen this but £20 for the set seems worth a punt.
