Did anyone else manage to buy this?

The Barricade is plug-ugly and has a pitiful effective range but you can empty the barrel in a couple of seconds and having 10 darts "whistling" toward you can be quite intimidating.
You can increase the range with higher power batteries

Yes I've been looking at that since I posted my comment. I've got a charger and a pair of hi voltage li-ions ordered from Deal Extreme after reading this blog;)

I'd cosmetically modded my barricade, mainly to make it less bulky at the front-end. I thinned and slightly shortened the barrel, removed most of the front sight, trimmed mouldings etc.

Here's a picture before I painted it:

This was available in store at the same time that the Maverick was at £7.00 and I spent ages holding both of them to make a decision as to which I wanted to buy. And after reading that the Barricade is frightfully loud, opted for the classic Maverick. Though I did read the same blog you posted after I got home and saw the trigger activated flywheels which would have made it much better. Oh well.

£3.00 for refill darts is a good price though. The ones that come with the Maverick are black foam and impossible to find afterwards.
Good price, for the darts too! I've had one of these in my Amazon basket for a while @ £12.99 for my son, waiting for the price to drop but it hasn't.

If you don't buy the barricade, it's worth stocking up on the whistler darts at that price. I couldn't find them online for much less than nearly £5 (including p&p) last time we needed some.

Have some heat btw
Been this price for a while,I bought these two items from the eastlands store 5 weeks ago & would recommend.
