Not really for small kids though, small 6 year olds will find it hard to load and advised not to shoot at close range toward faces - my son really hurt my eye. Having said that, they are good, robust guns and a lot of fun :)

Great price.

These are fun guns; as Scaurus5 said they can really hurt if you get hit in the eye so I'd definitely recommend goggles / glasses - my wife had vision problems for more than a week after I hit her.

£7.79 at Amazon currently if you don't have a Sainsburys nearby http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hasbro-28418148-Nerf--N-Strike-Maverick/dp/B004I1K9O4/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1304453157&sr=8-10

I can't help laughing at parents that give their kids guns then get shot. You can't exactly blame the kid can you?

I think they mean that they are easy to get into and change the spring tension etc..... not recommended for little uns but makes it a hell of a lot more fun for us adults!! :D

We've got 3 of these. The older kids (10 and 12) can use them easily and love 'em, but the 7 year old finds the gun too stiff to load easily and has all but given up using it.

If you unscrew it and take it apart, you can also file down 2 plastic tabs so the barrel drops down all the way and spins freely, allowing you to load easier and play foam Russian roulette. (It's the kidney shape on the grey part at the front of the barrel, and a yellow bit sticking out just underneath the orange oval hole where it blows air into the darts.) Make sure you hook all the springs back in the right place when you screw it back together though, especially the little spring that the gun slide (the part you cock back) hooks into.

Also, despite what the instructions say, it works very well with the clip system darts as well

Revision was going a bit slow so decided to take the trip to Sainsburys; definately worth my while! The girls I'm living with feel differently however. One of them took a shot to the forehead :| ooops. Thanks so much OP!

Sorry about delay in reply, but as other posters have said, there ree YouTube videos showing how to remove sone stalks inside the barrel to make bullets go further, and another mod to mare loading quicker. Ive onlly seen but not attempted. However can confirm that gun is robust and probably take a lot of tinkering as well as punishment from kids.

Whats the point of your post? Either add a link to support it or dont bother posting at all - looks like the Maverick is £10.99 each at Argos - And the darts are £5.99. The darts at £3.90 are very good value - cheaper that anywhere else.

I paid £11.40 for gun + spare darts and same at Argos would be £16.98.

Have now converted my radiator and empty caffeinated beverage cans into a shooting range. The joys of procrastination. Will see how work goes this afternoon but might keep a screwdriver handy for modifications...

Go on get the screwdriver to it!

Stick a few pennies behind the spring and remove the air restrictors in the barrels (if you have a knife or drill you can cut out the stalk thingy but I found if you leave the stalk in place you don't lose much range, get better accuracy and if you don't like the noise can put the restrictors back).
Once you've done that you'll be getting dents in your cans (but might annoy your neighbours with the noise),
