Nero 9 just £31.87 at Amazon uk, been looking for a good deal on this for a while. Play.com price is £39.99, The Amazon price is the cheapest I could find.

Sorry, I can't seem to link an image file. but you'll know what it is if you're familiar with Nero.

Good price, however please be aware that Nero 9 does not have the ability to playplay Blu-ray/HD discs...

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting the Nero Support Center.

Unfortunately, the previously offered Blu-ray/HD DVD Video Plug-in does not work with the latest Nero 9 version. The new Blu-ray Disc Authoring Plug-in for Nero 9 is available as an add on. Please purchase it through the following link from our website http://www.nero.com/eng/bluray-disc-authoring-plugin.html
This plug-in provides the necessary tools to create Blu-ray Discs with HD integrated menus and burning Blu-ray Discs for playback on Playstation® 3 and other Blu-ray Disc players.

We would like to draw your attention to the following: BD-ROM media cannot be played back using Nero ShowTime 5. (Nero ShowTime is part of the Nero 9 Suite).
Nevertheless you can install Nero 8 and Nero 9 side by side. That way you can play back BD-ROM media using Nero ShowTime 4.5 (part of the the Nero 8 Suite; playback requires the Blu-ray/HD DVD Video Plug-in).

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Thank you!

Best regards,
Your Nero Support Team

If you'd rather not pay for £31 for CD burning software , then an excellent free package is http://cdburnerxp.se/ It's not a huge package like Nero but for normal cd/dvd, Blue-ray and HD-DVD burning it's great

imgburn, imgburn, imgburn.

and it's free.

Wow thats expensive..... I have nero 8 and never install anything other than the burning software. It comes with far too many junky programs if you ask me.

Not voted as this is probably a good price, however I still thinks its a lot of money for what it does.

Cripes, I'm still on version 6. Am I missing anything?
#9
DVDShrink will only work with Nero, so people beware about recommending other dvd burning software packages!
#10
oh, and I'm on Version 5 and it works fine, so never quite see the need to upgrade to a higher version.
#11
To be honest nero 6 is still the best i have used, its less prone to errors, however there are better programs out there, nero will convert avi to dvd quicker than most but the results are not always great because of that

If it still works OK, you would only need to upgrade if you change your writer because you probably wouldn't be able to get drivers.

Nero is not always easy to use but in the end it is the best burning software around but I wouldn't pay more than £10 for it. You can get OEM versions for less than £10 and it comes free with any Dell computer, btw.

Still using nero 6 as well. Does everything fine, no reason to change.

i use convert x to dvd.Perfect results everytime. mines a rather dated version, but its the only one thats free;-)

Bloatware. Takes an age to install and a long time upon each load. If all you want to do is burn iso's CDs and DVDs then use the excellent IMGBURN its free and loads nice and fast also installs in seconds rather than half an hour or so.

Nero 6 lightened up version. Doesn`t take up much space like the later versions and does excatly as it says on the tin.

Cold for me really. Nobody should be encouraged to pay for software...:-D

Nero lost the plot after version 6. Tried shoehorning in a load of add-ons to boost its perceived value and encourage punters to fork out for "upgrades", whilst making the burning process slower and less reliable. Most magazines are now recommending Roxio, instead, whereas they used to encourage people to take up Nero, when Roxio made a Nero-like hash of its program a while back.

Still, it's a cheap price for those who still like Nero...
