Getting in a car and driving to Asda seems more of a hassle than two minutes on Amazon, sat on my couch with a coffee in hand, saving money while thinking of you in the massive queues at Asda... ;)

Hello everyone, I've got a dolce gusto for xmas and am debating exchanging for a tassimo.
My misses uses like hot chocolate and dg does not do Cadburys etc. Anyone give advice. Do the drinks taste OK or powdery?
Thanks in advance

I've got a dolce, and my daughter got a tassimo for Christmas. For me, the dolce wins hands down. If your missus likes hot chocolate, then the chocacino is lovely on the gusto, but the tassimo does have 'named' drinks ie Costa, Cadbury oreo. I'm a coffee drinker and I prefer dolce gusto, but it's personal choice dude

I always buy mine from Amazon, only wish you could mix up the flavours, so I suppose the Asda deal is better for that.

Had a Dolce Gusto many, many years ago. Replaced that with a Tassimo which has a much wider range of pods available for it and preferred the fact you push one button and the machine knows how much water to dispense for each drink. On the model of Dolce Gusto I had you you had to manually stop it and if for example you used more water than recommended, would end up with a watered down drink.

Wasn't impressed with any of the Tassimo hot chocolate drinks (Cadbury, Suchard and Milka), they all tasted too watery to me which isn't a surprise really as two of them are made with just water). Also they make a very small amount so you really need to use two hot chocolate pods per drink.

Although not as convenient, if you want a really tasty hot chocolate, I'd recommend making one by hand. Steam the milk if you have the equipment. Otherwise, heat the milk in a glass French Press style milk frother in a microwave. Froth the milk using the plunger. Add preferred number of teaspoons of hot chocolate into your drinking vessel (latte glass or cup/mug). Add a little hot water. Stir until you have a smooth liquid paste. Pour in frothed milk. Stir. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with a little hot chocolate powder if desired.

Sit back, relax and enjoy your cafe style hot chocolate at home! :D

Mmm... Choccochino + whipped cream! Much prefer that to a Costa or Starbucks any day

Drop into b+m, they usually have a couple of flavours for 2.99. Home bargains used to, but not seen them for a month or two

First price drop have seen for a while. No doubt only because they will have sold a lot of new machines for Christmas. Stock up now as prices will go back up to £11+ soon enough.. Though i found a place to buy 50 of the mocha pods (mocha pod only no milk pod) for £12.50 and now just heat up my own bottled milk first :)

It's a shame the ice tea or nequick ones aren't on here!:(

They're fine. As good as owt else on the market. My brother in law says he got tassimo & he tried his mums new Gusto & was gutted coz miles better than Tassimo. Sick of him moaning so we bought him DG for Christmas. The chocochino is nice. Mocha latte lovely too.
