With all the Nespresso coffee machine deals around here's another to try ?

Not.tried these before and I thought the vanilla and caramel might be worth a try but before others wade in yes I appreciate they may not be in the " same league" as original Nespresso pods of which I have many and am a big fan of. But for those not wanting to pay the extra including the shipping charges then Sainsbury's High street offerings might be worth a go ?

The main link did not work - http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchDisplayView?msg=&catalogId=10241&langId=44&storeId=10151&krypto=s2UQ%2FNuZ1aMQIEA3qY4HX9YF1LWcX5N5%2Fet74GNIEK83qZzNtyX06EHKHvw9hfaf62Q8AevSYYRrfM5O1sH7HXO8FQE%2Bh3yaJMfatu2ek%2BcRVcCqd4gQEjuLjsH4Jk%2B7hxtD6a5Lw7oJjURbWoavWaBR%2BXuKy%2F0y2N2hEFDkHLc%3D

( now changed to the vanilla option)but they have more on their web page. The two I purchased were the Caramel & Vanilla which I have provided links for. Still to try them but hopefully at 20p a go they are not too bad ????

You can only get 'compatible' pods for Nespresso - all the rest are protected designs but the patent has expired on the Nespresso one because they've been around so long.

You can often get Tassimo pods at 3 packs for £10 or occasionally £3 a pack.
It's also worth checking for codes for the Tassimo website - you can sometimes get money off and/free delivery and there are lots there that are hard (or impossible) to get in the shops like decaff or espresso.

Thumbs up OP as the Cafe Royal Espresso Forte pods are amongst the best compatibles out there - worth a try at this price if you've never tasted them before.

Shame, they were full price in our small local today. I'll check again next time I'm passing

That's surprising as I thought JS were more consistent with their pricing as all the pods are £2 on line. Unlike others such as Morrisons who seem to have different prices between on line products and in store, maybe because it was a local ?

Just an FYI , Aldi have finally started sticking Nespresso-compatible pods. Lidl have been doing them for years, bit Aldis are quite nice too now.

Caramel only on the shelf for £2 today. didn't realise you could actually get a few types of Nespresso compatible pods.
No idea if they are good for the machine, but there are a few slightly different ones compared to the official ones.

I tried the vanilla one today & was definitely worth the money. Very different to the Nespresso vanilla but a nice alternative. Will try the caramel and report back. Surprised the deal is not hotter as these appear to be a good alternative. Doubt I would pay the full price as I would rather stick with Nespresso but at the price with no postage charges they seem a good High St. alternative & the ALDI or Lidl Bellarom types were nothing to write home about. I guess it's all about taste ? You pay your money you take your choice but for me I won't be rushing to Poundland just to get a bargain :-)

I've given up on compatible pods - my Nespresso machine leaks like a Russian destroyer if you don't use the proper ones.
