Brilliant, I hadn't seen that. What a great deal, you will need to buy 150 capsules eventually so get the, in one go and you get a Pixie and Aerocinno for £69. I paid over £160 for the pair less than 18 months ago.

My advice is not to bother, even the cheaper ones still are average about 20p each and some of them just cant cut it. Lidl for instance, although they are nice, sometimes they dont "brew" correctly. Water spils through the bottom and isnt processed properly. Id advise just getting the 29p espressos directly from nespresso, so much nicer

Starbucks new Nespresso range dispense well & taste good - you can tell looking at the design of the pods some actual engineering has gone into making sure they work. Also they use foil instead of plastic tops. Cafe Direct's Espresso/Americano are the only others that work ok for me.

Serious question, apart from asphetics why is the machine better? I thought all Nespresso machine made the exact same tasteing brew anyway?

They are 30p capsule new in Tesco at the mo which is about the same as nespresso originals but as they are being sold in supermarkets I would expect them to be on offer now & again

In theory they should all taste the same, but some are easier to use (more features such as a greater range of automatic cup sizes) and some are better built (hence the reference to metal vs plastic above).

Wow. I've not heard of Starbucks Nespresso capsules. Where du buy them? Starbucks or supermarkets?

Cafepod are pants i've tried 3 different types, they don't dispense good an not great quality of coffee used.

Im currently trying 2nd box of Starbucks ones i got from Tesco too. 3 quid for 10 and i would say they are 8 out of 10 compared to Nespresso capsules in overall rating.

So go to place is obviously Nespresso followed by Tesco Starbucks ones if im running super low.

No need to be so sarcastic. Nothing wrong with pointing out that Lavazza coffee is nicer (in the poster's opinion) - they do a pod machine a lot cheaper than the Nespresso so people might want to consider alternatives.

just a question here: I see this promotion only applies to 4 colours on the nespresso site and they don't specify wether the make of the pixie is relevant (ie pixel by nespresso, pixie by magimix or pixel by krups)

https://www.nespresso.com/uk/en/pages/autumn-2016-promotion?icid=B2C_UKen_autumn-qo

but amazon seem to have the promotion listed on their pixie page by Krups:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nespresso-XN300540-Coffee-Machine-Krups/dp/B004MW56CE/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

I do not mind paying the extra money going directly to espresso if it means that it also has a 3 year guarantee (I cannot find how long a guarantee is offered by nespresso themselves) and is definitely eligible for the promotion as I do not see any mention of the promotion on the John Lewis page in the link. John Lewis is however a distributor that is eligible for the promotion, see below:

Yeh I agree my pref for these pods is now: Nespresso > Starbucks > Cafe Direct > Taylor's > Cafe Pod.
I actually wouldn't buy any of theCafe Pod again as I found they don't seem to dispense well which results in a weak drink. Taylor's failed 1 in 5.

I bought our first Nespresso machine around 12 years ago. I've had 3 different machines and each of the 3 is different in temperature and the way it produces the finished shot. Only minutely different but I can tell. This pixie model is a very good no nonsense model without bells and whistles. It's aluminium pull down arm gives a solid feel and as the machine is the latest line of machines it's well up there. If you've not used these machines before and you buy this model you won't go far wrong. I expect a troll or 3 to spout some **** to contradict this but that's what society seems to be all about... Sadly!

Used to have a tassimo which has been moved to the office so looking to get another coffee machine for the house.

Anyone compared this to the Tassimo? Are there any other alternatives I should be looking out for.

Practically yes, Nespresso can range from 29-35p a pod so Starbucks regardless of the blend (I saw three) are 30p

My mum has the Tassimo, no comparison on coffee only :) but you will loose the hot chocolate and tea pods if you change to Nespresso.

I'm hoping Starbucks will start doing Tassimo pods — particularly Pumpkin Spice Latte and Eggnog Latte…

Great coffee machines! If your near a Nespresso Shop (Bluewater Kent) has a good one! Stop at the coffee bar and try one or more of their lovely coffees! The staff are super helpful and don't seem to mind you trying whatever! They also give your tiny cakes (sometimes) to go with the coffee (well if your buying coffee pods anyway might as well make it a pleasant experience)

Depends on what you drink and if cost is important to you.

I mainly drink a latte, this would cost 60p a cup for a Tassimo system or 30p (or less if you use compatible pods) plus fresh milk for a Nespresso, if you drink a few coffee's a day then the extra costs soon mount's up.

Always worth a try, they may work better for you. Cafe Direct were the first I would choose in the supermarket but have now been trumped by Starbucks. Always worth keeping an eye out for a free delivery offer on the Nespresso website.

Just ordered over the phone at Nespresso, if your a new member like me, you get offered a 150 variety box for £47.70 which gives you the free milk frother, and also you get a free gift with the variety box but it won't let you have both free gifts on the website so I rang up and they did both gifts for free
