Lowest ever price this model does the heating and hot water. 2nd gen is more suited for combi boilers which is also cheaper. Probably get voted cold due to the high cost Read More

Its fine with combi boilers, I have the 3rd Gen. I got mine for £250 installed. Heat.

They just announced 3 "new" models. Still 3rd gen, but now in black, white or copper. Silver one shown still available.

Had one for 6 months now. Waste of money. Hard to use and control. Timer very fiddly and time consuming to program. Learning part gets it wrong most if the time. Does crazy things like heat a full tank of hot water 2 hours a day even when hot water is turned off. How the hell is that going to save money? Nest say its to prevent Legionaires Disease FFS. You have to dig deep in system settings to override it. Handy to be able to control things remotely, eg turn heating on before you get home. Also it looks smart on the wall. Very Apple like.

Heat from me. Great price. Not sure I could justify more just for a different colour though.

If you have a smart phone and hands this is a super simple thermostat to use and control.

The learning feature works well if you are changing temps on a regular basis. If it's different every single day it's never going to learn. It's an algorithm. It's not magic.

People need to read the manual.

The hot water warming for two hours a day IS a safety feature to stop the build up of legionnaires in your tank. This feature can be turned off. Takes 2 seconds.

This price doesn't include installation though so that's probably worth noting.

I had the V2 before hand, 2 in fact as 2 zones and I upgraded one zone so I had hot water control. If upgrading its a case of 1 extra wire and the job is done. Took about 15 minutes I switch out parts.

If you need it fitted from scratch it's quite a big job then installation is the way forward unless you know what you are doing. Even some electricians have struggled a bit.

I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out amended.

Really I was under the impression they were quite easy to install as it's only 6 wires or something

If you've installed a full hearing controller before then I'm sure it's quite simple. But if the most you've done with electrics is a new socket then i think most would struggle.

Remember over 60's can get 10% B&Q price on Wednesdays (£179.10) and larger companies often sign up to discount schemes for members. I can get 6% off at Currys reducing the price to £177.66 so it is worth checking if you have access to either.

True you should only be able to vote cold if you can post better price
