I had a closer look at the DG834 on Amazon and ebuyer and it isn't the DG834G which is the wireless 54g one with the antenna. This router is wired only. :)

Probably worth paying the extra £11 for the wireless model (wireless one is £54.47).

Yep, could sell the adapter for more than a fiver if not going to be used. I was lucky and got the RangeMax 108mbs (with free adapter) from Argos two weeks ago (£49.99). Great range with it:thumbsup:

I picked up a DG834GT wireless router from staples last week for £17.99:-D

Right!

I need a new router. Presently using a BT100

So what do I do now?

Get this or look for a wireless one? Haven't got (don't need) a laptop.

Or hope to find a 'GT' for under £20.00

Good buy, the clearance shelves at my Staples are pretty bare. A few Phillips routers, Netgear laptop cards and PCI adapters left.

No point having a woireless one if you don't need it :) But it would future proof if you change your mind later.

Depends if you want to use your desktop next to the BT master socket, run a cable to another room (upstairs?) or go wireless. I doubt you'll find another DG834GT @ £17.97.

Good point. wireless it'll be then so thanks for that.

I can get a refurbished one DG834G (wireless) for 33.00 on Ebay. would anyone advise against it?

Only 3Mths Guarantee but I figure if it was going to be a problem that it would be within that time.

I have one of these as well, highly recommended. Very, very rarely loses signal. Great piece of kit.
