Eh? I saw this in York HMV on Saturday... Only looked as I was surpised to see it but it was £79

Receipt?
#2
At £20 this is a great deal however the actual product itself is not that great. I've had to RMA this twice in less than a year.
#3
just had a look for the receipt but i cant find it :@ they also had the router minus the modem for £30, i waited to post it till i saw that it was 'nationwide'

and yes firephoenixctk, it does have a few issues, but for £20 its a bargain, especially considering it works with sky broadband...
#4
This deal is genuine as can be. Its part of their clearout sale - INSTORE ONLY!
#5
are you sure this has an adsl modem?
the netgear website shows only a DSL modem, for cable only.
#6
edit: if it is adsl then this is mega hot!!
#7
I can confirm DEFINITELY that it is ADSL2+, it even says so on the router, and i currently have it running on sky broadband =D
#8
tauran - it states on the netgear website that it has an ADSL2 modem, although the router states ADSL2+
#9
Just phoned my local HMV store and they only had Netgear N-300 for £30.

ADSL modem is the same thing as a DSL modem. For virgin media it must not have a built in modem.

This is a DSL moden for bt lines not a cable(virgin) modem.
#13
@reserves - thats a super hot deal too, i stated it above as being the 'router minus the modem for £30'

this is hotter though ;)
#14
Good price :)
#15
Cracking price, good router. Just wish it was the cable version

Hot never the less :)
#16
I have one of these. I've always had Netgear and can vouch for the quality of their products. Hot.
#17
How much stock did the trafford centre store have?

:edit:

nvm, phoned them - they're sold out.

:edit:

Neither do Warrington.

I can't work out which model the Netgear N300 is, seems to be called a few different things, like the DGN2000? However if it doesn't have a modem built in it's not very useful to me?

Bargain

Just picked one up in Northumberland St, Newcastle branch.

Had 5 or 6 left on the shelf.

Thanks op.
#21
If someone wants to be nice and pick one up for me and ill pay postage :) id be very grateful
#22
Got one of these from Amazon for £53 about a month ago. £20 is a bargain!

(I will however note I wouldn't personally use one as I have had endless problems with Netgear modem/routers in the past!)

Great deal. Bought a Belkin few months back to replace my old Netgear and have had nothing but problems since. Would happily return to Netgear and at this price i may just do that...
#25
No stock in Sheffield Meadow hall, or city centre.

Meadow hall did have the £30 one in though.
#26
Great price i bought this router for £60 and been top notch ever since.
#27
Picked up the last one from Merry Hell...
Thanks op! Hot!
#28
Heat added. That is a cheap price. I would have picked one up from TC if I didn't have it's older Brother the DGND3300 already. Would make a cheap AP though.
#29
These have fairly bad reviews, so for anyone picky on their connection id stay clear. However an adsl router for this price is good.

These are compatible with o2's chipsets so you will get full speed.

thank you x

I just called a couple of stores in London and they each said they don't have any DGN 2000 left and that there are none in London. A few stores have the N-300 (which I think is the "without modem" version). The Oxford Circus store confusingly said that they had one at £30 and one at £40 and when I questionned that she said it wasn't a mistake!
#32
Price looks good but unfortunately, I can't recommend the product even at that price! I had one and sent it back since it would lose the connection to the Internet every now and again. Ended up buying the dg834v3 which was on here for 20 quid, and that is far far more reliable!
#33
No Netgear products in Blackpool.

jhbjhb, HMV Piccadilly Circus have pleanty. I was there only 4 hours ago. There were about 10 of the DGN2000's and about 20 of the £30/£40 models. I got myslef the DGN2000, as it's pre-n, where as the other 2 models were not.

I can finally get a great signal in my bedroom.

On another note, they have some decent £10 Microsoft keyboards.

For anyone who wants to check out the Piccadilly Store, you need to go to the back of the store in the gaming section. They are located to the right of the PS3 section.

I have been using one of these routers for the past 2 years with no problems at all very fast when set to 270mbps

no stock in staines or hounslow or reading

For £20, this is great. I use this ADSL router and it works fine. No problems so far (touch wood). Mine cost £40 last year. Just remember to check for firmware updates and install them when they are available if you have any issues.
#38
Agree I have had two of these fail on me - the 2nd one ended up at the tip as netgear wanted too much to send it to them. Now on a Billion 7800 and never looked back.

Garbage product even at this price. As everyone else, LAN ports failed on me and had to RMA. Netgear customer service wanted £15 to replace it under warranty.
