The Netgear DGN3500 Wireless N Gigabit Router offers wide range and high speeds of up to 300Mbps with the option of taking advantage of the Gigabit speeds using the ethernet connections on the router. It offers enough bandwidth for online gaming and video streaming. Also, with ReadyShare it allows you shared access to an external USB storage device across all of the devices in the wireless network. With the Netgear Rangemax Wireless N Gigabit Router you can create a dedicated network for any guests you may have joining your wireless network. This keeps your personal data safe in your own network without having to add additional settings to keep it hidden.

Automatic Quality of Service (QoS) ensures the consistency of the Netgear DGN3500 Wireless N Gigabit Router's connection. It assesses the applications being used and awards the bandwidth to the more bandwidth intensive applications such as online gaming or media streaming which keeps the connection running without interference or delay. If you already have a wireless router at home, this one can be used as a wireless repeater to extend the range of your wireless network.

What can this do that any type N router (With USB port) with DD WRT flashed on cannot?

Edit: In fact, you can even turn some USB printers into wireless networked printers with DD WRT

It has a built in modem as well. Not really sure what DD WRT is but I'm just looking at price - this is the cheapest I can find this model online

I had to return my netgear after continually dropped the line (even after upgrading the firmware)- previous was a linksys that never dropped, ended up with a billion 7800n which works exceptionally well. Amazon returns work so well. Check out the reviews before purchasing.
