Just bought the homeplug deals from currys the other day ans was looking for a switch so I could share the connection between a laptop, ps3, xbox and a couple of desktops... this is perfect and a bargin price, I had a dig around and other places were selling it for around tht £17-25 price bracket..

If you are thinking that you can connect 5 devices to this you may be disappointed. I think one of the 5 ports is used to connect the switch to the router (or homeplug in your case).

Check out the back of it at scan.

Good price though.

That is the case with all switches that I have ever used ie an 8 port has 7 free plus the one you connect to, its only combined router/switches which generally have the full number of ports detailed (at least in my experience)

ok (excuse the ignorance here!) if i brought this, would i just plug my modem (virgin) into it, one ethernet into the pc and the other ports for homeplugs,and thats it? no need to configure anything or need for a router?

sorry if that seems a daft question,but im not the most tech savvy!!
