Just looking for another Gigabit Switch, found this Netgear.

Ebuyer, amazon, play, all sell for over £45. I've just ordered one and with postage it came to £33.61 - quidco, not tracked yet but should be 6%.

Switch = 29.51
P&P = £4.10
Total £33.61

Not bad for a well reviewed Switch.

All going great there until the word pixmania.

Wouldn't touch them with yours. Awful slimey company. Have to vote cold, despite the product and price being exceptional.

I've ordered in the past and they were ok (I heard all these bad things but for me they were great), delivered well within the time scale and the same netgear switch is still going strong.

Until you need to return it and they fob you off with French consumer law despite the fact they hide that on there website and pretend to be a UK company. Or you get an EU socket etc.

You just have to google them to see the issues.

AM I correct in saying this is what you use if you have ran out of ethernet ports on the back of your cable router,

For example you are running 4 pc,s and now want to add two more from the router

Yes, however this is gigabit, if you do not need it to be capable of gigabit speeds then you can pick up a 10/100 one from Amazon for under £10.

This is a good price for what it is though

Britain's top electrical retailer DSG International, the owner of high street chains Dixons, Currys and PC World, yesterday boosted its online presence when it took a controlling stake in one of Europe's leading internet retailers.

The company agreed to pay €266m (£185m) for a 75% stake in Paris-based Fotovista, which owns the Pixmania online retailer of digital photographic and other consumer electronic products

complain to the parent company ie DSG

Quidco tracked on the price before VAT £24.59 > it tracked at £1.23.

Interesting concept. So if my Dixons purchased Samsung LED tv fails under warranty, I'll just pop into Currys or PC World and tell them it's there problem too? Or, better yet, send a letter to DSG. That would actually work would it?

I have one of these. It's on, does it's job and never skips a beat. Excellent for local network performance such as ethernet wiring a couple of desktops or a desktop and a laptop (or all three, or four!).

I don't think it would work since Curry's, PC World and so on are not DSG. They are businesses owned by DSG.

Dont want to hack on your deal, but I posted a 8 port belkin which is like 50.00 + and its from ebay for 26.00 delivered new and lifetime warranty, , just a heads up for those wanting to buy. as I bought that one

This is not a good deal, considering its french with eu cord and probably more than a week delivery, and if it turns up broke, good luck getting a refund, Pixmania sukcs.

Again sorry to tread on your post, but this is site is all about deals after all

If you have free delivery from Scan I'd look at this Zyxel one from them:

i just bought a tplink 5-port for 15ukp from kenable, i was going to get my 4th netgear until i saw what the prices are these days.

the netgears work ok, but they're not great (sometimes they don't autoneg well or the ports randomly stop working and i've never seen over 500mbps via them) so i'm not paying the money for their brandname anymore.
