Just got this router (all be-it free with Virgin Broadband). Very very impressed with the signal strength - stays full, even when im in the attic

Sounded good to me too. i was just about to get one when I noticed it was for "Cable" not standard adsl.

Good find though.

I think this is compatable for either isn't it?? As far as I can tell this is JUST a router, not a combined unit with modem, so you will still need a modem (be it ADSL or Cable), then connect via ethernet to this  Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I see it?? HTH

Even though it says cable, if you have an ADSL modem that runs via ethernet connection (as opposed to USB) it should still work.

pcworld people are sales men most of them dont know anything tech related. This pcworld deal is online, so u might as well buy it off other online retailers from my above list.
" £49.99 Delivered + 3% Quidco @ PC World - ONLINE ONLY!"
edit: click on the go to deal link and discovered you can collect at store, op should edit the title.
oh and pcworld labelled this as cable when it will work with adsl modems too, do you still think they are pro?
This is the image they used:
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/store_doc/GE/website-content/product-content/networking/cable.gif
Whereas in the spec it says "DSL Cable connections"
funny thing is with this router which has the cable image but its a dsl router! http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0428894246.1253489591@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdcadeigfdhkhlcflgceggdhhmdfho.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=959573&category_oid=#productInformationSection "Gateway Type Router (DSL)"
And for this belkin router they put dsl in the title when its cable! "Belkin G54 G54 Wireless Cable Router (DSL)" http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0428894246.1253489591@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdcadeigfdhkhlcflgceggdhhmdfho.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=118743&category_oid=#productInformationSection
Edit: dixons says the belkin g54 router is adsl http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/store/dix_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1320254085.1253492435@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccekadeigfdkegmcflgceggdhhmdgml.0&chain=Dixons&seo=yes&sku=558928&channel=WEB&page=Product#productInformationSection

Im not implying John lewis staff know more about computers than DSGi staff its just they are sales people, whose job is to make sure you leave the shop with a product in hand so they get commission.

This was an excellent reply I thank you...now if someone could just show a comparison table of different n routers I would be happy, I'm considering the draytek 2820n..
