Thanks for the post, I have a couple of questions:

Can you offer any more details about performance and throughput?

Is there the option of connecting an external antenna to this unit (to amplify the wireless signal)?

Is this actually 802.11n or 'draft' 802.11n.

Thanks again

All the reviews (well over 6 months old) I found so far aren't too complimentary about this one, although some problems could have been improved by firmware updates since...?

I had a netgear router that broke after 3 years. Their customer service is great...they helped me work out that it had broken and then agreed to replace if for me free of charge....they even paid the postage.

Im almost positive im right.

is netgear = cisco....

the best there is.

i have a netgear wireless router, not this one, easy to configure and must be packed full of viagra as its always up.

if you need one, go for it.

JUST CHECK HOW MUCH THE WIRELESS CARDS ARE IF YOU NEED ONE OF THEM ASWELL. I LOOKED WHEN I WAS GETTING MINE. THE PC WIRELESS CARD WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE ROUTER..

i think this will still be Draft N i don't think there has been a standardised version of N drawn up, what does this mean?

it could potentially mean that if u buy a linksys, D-Link, or any other brand that uses the N format, they might not communicate due to using different standards. so be careful when using with other products

Just use cheapie g cards. I doubt anyone seriously needs the speed unless they're running a wireless file server.

To make full use of this router you will need a Netgear Wireless Rangemax WN511B card.

It's no good if you don't.

Amazon were giving the card frree WN511B with the every Netgear router purchased ealier this year

It is a draft N card and yes you need either the WN511B or WN311B to make the best of its "N" capabilities, although its still a pretty capable router in "G" mode, it syncs about 4 meg higher on my ADSL line than the router my provider sent
