right after a bit more googling i found it at dabs.com for£153.84 delivered and there is 4% cash back avalible from either topcashback or quidco. also mentions the free 500gb drive unlike lambda tek so i think i will go with dabs as its a tad cheaper

Sorry.. I don't mean to offend you. I have no intention of taking credit off anyone.. as I honestly went through every single reseller site from netgear to find it for myself since expired. I thought some fellow forum friends would want it also hence posted the deal on the thread. I wished to have checked your post as your contribution would have saved me a lot of time last night.

Anyway, credit to you then.. and I gladly transfer all the credit to you if you seek them. I just want my ReadNAs only and not seeking anything else...

THank You Katya1971

it was meant as a funny comment, not out of any kind of spite,Its fine you hold the reps , im not that desperate for it.

Glad you found a good deal though, i was just cheesed off i couldn't get it on the original thread when id been researching and reviewing it so in depth.

enjoy x

BTW , just to show im not bitter i have voted hot

Seems a lot for a hard drive, especially if it wasn't supplied with a free hard drive :-)
#9
It says "Not available for sale" so I've expired it.

I am sorely tempted, don't have a TV playback device as yet though. Was thinking of the Western Digital WD TV device.... any thoughts?
#16
Ooh err! Maybe still expired as it is is now saying "on order delivery delayed"

Is it just me or is this getting difficult to find? A lot of the offers, on closer examination seem to have extra postage charges/delays.

I did find this on Play.com with postage included. Or would it be better to buy with the hard drives already installed.? Can anyone point me to this sort of offer?

Seems well worth a punt to me - especially if it offers various RAID options and the option of online back up.

According to the Netgear release, the free drive offer ended at the end of June:

http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/Netgear-996660.html

Edit:

Correction, it has been extended to 30th September 2009:

http://www.netgear.co.uk/free500gbdrive.php

In addition, you just need to purchase a Netgear ReadyNas...So you can get it here:

http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductID=893119&source=froogle

If you have free delivery for Scan it comes out to £155.24

You're better off buying the deal with the free 500gb drive and then installing 2 1TB drives, than you are to buy with the hard drives already installed.
This is SCAN's price (£526.31 + delivery) with 1 x 1TB drive installed.
Whereas if you bought the RND2000-100UKS + 2 x 1TB drives you are looking at around £285.

I'm also looking for a NAS - just in case this helps people I've compiled a list of the usual suspects for both the NetGear ReadyNAS and the Buffalo Drivestation Duo.

Looking for a NAS.

Buffalo Duo for 500GB RAID 1 (1TB advertised)
- eBuyer: £179.99 inc VAT
- Lamdatek: £163.73 inc VAT
- Misco: £203.99 inc VAT
- Micro direct: £164.06 inc VAT
- Scan: £177.09 inc VAT
- Amazon: £179.99 inc VAT + FREE delivery
- Microwarehouse.co.uk: £148.75 inc VAT [out of stock]

Netgear RND2000-100UKS READYNAS DUO 2-BAY DISKLESS
- LambdaTek: £157.57 inc VAT
- Microdirect: £162.16 inc VAT
- Scan: £147.76 inc VAT
- eBuyer: £159.99 inc VAT
- Novatech: £158.13 inc VAT
- Amazon: £162.99 inc VAT
- Misco: £149.49 inc VAT [stock ordered on demand]

This deal @ Dabs wins for actually having stock, so I've added heat and rep for you :) Thanks!

And I've just ordered a ReadyNAS :D
